The last day of spring, and we had cool weather and rain showers all afternoon. A really pleasant change from the extreme heat and dust storms we've been having over the last month.

The first box from my CSA (I'm splitting a box with Amber this year). Tonight's dinner is a stir fry involving half of these, and I have plans for a beef stew with most of the rest.

I haven't been doing much today apart from a bit of housework, which is why I've added this shot. I thought I'd have a go at shooting some veg preparation, after all for me, the point of this project is to give myself daily photography exercises that I wouldn't usually do.

50 retaining blocks, weighing 50 pounds each. plus 54 cubic feet of soil. All carried in and worked by Ari! We still need 8 more cubic feet of soil (*sigh*).

 

p.s. years ago this used to be a sloping lawn in an oddly fenced off "yard" outside the kitchen side door.
