Day 73, or week 10. Just after a heavy rain.

Beets have been pulled up - only two good ones, the rest were small and bitter. The greens are tasty though!

After each rain, the pea trellis tilts over a bit farther... some of the pea stalks are easily 5 ft long. Unfortunately, some of them are starting to get a powdery mildew - just in the last 1.5 weeks.

The last of the Simpson lettuce is going to seed.

Only 2.5 more weeks until the first frost date!

A very long time ago, an old friend who was also the longtime village greengrocer, built a scale model of the family shop. This view shows one of the groundfloor areas, just as it was then, with all the different vegetables. These were all indvidually made and painted - it doesn't do to drop a tiny box of apples or potatoes I can tell you!!
