It didn't occur to us until we planted the (remarkably similar-looking) seeds that we are growing an awful lot of plants from the squash family. Well, we like them. Note high-tech plant labels made from bits of yoghurt pot.

We have Banana pumpkin vines taking over a section of the yard. They are banana shaped and end up a blackish green when ripe and are the best tasting of all pumpins.
