methods used in speedlighting, how to get to correct exposure, finding beautiful light, and how to enhance the existing light with controlled use of flash. It is this intersection between available light and flash that we get great results.
- achieving (soft) directional light from your flash
- flash exposure (including the use of the histogram and the value of max sync speed)
- balancing flash with tungsten light. NYC. 8/26/10.

"Het Stadhuis van Maastricht is het historische raadhuis van de Nederlandse gemeente Maastricht. Het stadhuis staat midden op de Markt in het centrum van Maastricht en heeft een rijke, grotendeels 18e-eeuwse inrichting. Het geheel met natuursteen beklede, vrijstaande gebouw is een ontwerp van Pieter Post en geldt als een belangrijk voorbeeld van het Hollands classicisme.
The City Hall of Maastricht is the historic town hall of the Dutch municipality of Maastricht. The town hall is situated in the middle of the Market in the centre of Maastricht and has a rich, largely 18th-century interior. the first president who was not of English, Irish, Welsh, or Scottish descent. First president not born a British subject. Van Buren was the first President who did not experience the American Revolution firsthand. He is also the only president not to have spoken English as a first language, having grown up speaking Dutch.
Three famous descendants of his are singer Nelson Eddy, actor Glenn Ford, and author Wolcott Gibbs.
His senate seat was eventually occupied by Robert Kennedy and Hillary Clinton.

When everyone was heading for the coast on scorching hot Saturday we headed inland on narrow winding lanes towards Midhurst. We came across a herd of Gypsy Vanners who were sheltering under the shade of trees swishing their tails to keep the flies at bay. You can see the whole herd on Bigbird3 photostream

Finally got a chance to finish off the Gypsy Vanner Horse shots from last fall. Gypsies are my favorite of all the horse breeds. Their power, beauty and grace mesmerize me. I consider myself very lucky to be able to visit this farm and these wonderful creatures.

The Greek Revival Van Buren County Courthouse in Keosauqua, Iowa was built in 1840. It is, indeed, the oldest working county courthouse in Iowa.
This building holds the distinction of also being one of the the oldest working county courthouses in the United States west of the Mississippi River. And, depending on which courthouse you consider to be the oldest acting courthouse in Arkansas (an believe me the people down there have had a terrible time making up their minds), this one my very well be the oldest west of the Mississippi.
For my picture of the one courthouse in Arkansas that marginally claims a construction period of 1839 to 1840, the Jefferson County Courthouse in Pine Bluff, follow this link: www.flickr.com/photos/courthouselover/357611607/in/set-72...
