A tough sort of van... undoubtedly... Fierce dog left inside, a lot of fines, a skull on the dashboard... maybe is better not to wait for the owner to come back... :-)
Original shots taken with a Polaroid Procam camera on expired 990 Polaroid film , almost no post processing, just scanned.
Voormalige Rijkswaterstaatswoningen aan de Westkade 111-112 te Sas van Gent, tegenwoordig bekend als 'het witte huis' of 'de witte villa'. Rechts de suikerloods, erachter de suikersilo.
Former Van De Kamp's Holland Dutch Bakery site. This complex also contained a Van de Kamps Restaurant, which was later acquired by Dennys Restaurants. Van De Kamps Holland Dutch Bakery went bankrupt and closed in the late 1980's or early 1990's. In 1991, Alpha Beta Company Grocery Stores purchased the name and began to produce bread under the Van De Kamps label. At some point the Boys Markets parent company purchased Alpha Beta Stores. When Ralphs Grocery Company was taken over by the parent company of Boys Markets, Yucaipa Company, it kept the Van De Kamps name as one of their store brands. In or around 1997, the Kroger Company of stores, took over Ralphs Grocery Company. Kroger has also kept the Van De Kamp's name as one of Ralphs' store brands. Van De Kamp Bakery Goods are also sold in Food 4 Less Stores, another division of Ralphs. Located across the street is a former Hughes Market, which became another store called Shims. Hughes moved down the street further down San Fernando Road, which later was acquired by Ralphs Supermarkets.
Currently, the original Van De Kamps Bakery is in the process of being rehabilitated into a campus for the Los Angeles Community College District. Several structures have been demolished including parts of this building. The entire former bakery and restaurant are located at San Fernando Road and Fletcher Dr. in Los Angeles, California.
In 2010, the renovations and reconstruction of the former Van De Kamps Bakery was completed. Gerrit is nu 55 en sinds tien jaar weet hij dat hij schizofrenie heeft. In de eerste jaren van deze ontdekking is Gerrit een aantal keer opgenomen geweest vanwege psychoses. Dankzij een Persoons Gebonden Budget kan hij een peethulp inhuren. Dankzij deze peethulp heeft Gerrit al zes jaar geen psychose meer gehad. Nu hij zijn PGB gaat kwijtraken, vreest hij voor terugval. Ook valt de eigen bijdrage van hem zwaar. Wel vindt Gerrit veel steun in het vrijwilligerswerk wat hij verricht, en gaat hij ook een cursus ervaringsdeskundige volgen.
Bazaar van Teheran
Een levendige middag in de Bazaar van Teheran, waar een menigte mensen zich verplaatst tussen de kleurrijke kraampjes die een breed scala aan kleding en goederen aanbieden, onder de indrukwekkende architectuur van de overdekte markt.

De Bazaar van Teheran is een van de oudste en grootste markten in Iran, een labyrint van smalle straatjes, overdekte gangen en talloze winkels. Het is een centrum van handel en cultuur, waar traditionele ambachten samenkomen met moderne producten.

Currently it houses a wide variety of new media and design companies and is known as the Van Nelle Design Factory ("Van Nelle Ontwerpfabriek" in Dutch). This is one of only a handful of companies featured in the scrapbook which are still around today.
Approximately 60 years ago when I was a little lad someone gave me a scrapbook in which he had pasted dozens of images of trucks, vans, buses and trolleybuses.
They form a fascinating and unique collection.
The images come from a 1940s publication called "Motor Transport"
Rumbeke Castle (Dutch: Kasteel van Rumbeke) is a historical building in Rumbeke in West Flanders, Belgium, one of the oldest Renaissance castles in the country.
Although most of the building was built during the Renaissance on the site of a much older fortress, it gained some slightly Neoclassical features after its renovation during the 18th century. During those renovations, the adjacent forest, the Sterrebos or the Star Forest, was added to its grounds. The forest was modelled after the Prater park in Vienna.
According to legend, Baldwin Iron Arm, Count of Flanders, kidnapped Judith, the daughter of Charles the Bald in 862 in Senlis and brought her to the fortress that used to be at the very location where the present castle now stands. With the intervention of the Pope, the two lovers married in Auxerre, which then resulted in the creation of the County of Flanders.
The castle of Rumbeke suffered damage during the invasion of Flanders by French king Louis XIV, as well as during the French Revolution and in both world wars more than a century later.
During the First World War, it was taken over by the Germans and became for a short period of time, the home of Baron Manfred von Richthofen, better known as the Red Baron, who was credited with shooting down 80 enemy aircraft in his brightly painted red airplane.
The castle can be seen in the movie That Lucky Touch, a comedy which was partially shot in Rumbeke in 1975, starring Roger Moore and Shelley Winters.
