Min vän aka min man Basel med våra hundar. Han är en av dem fyra vänner jag har och vår vänskåp är inta lika gammal som med dem andra tre men han är den ända riktiga vän jag har i Sverige. Jag har det svårt att skaffa nya kontakter och skiller ganska hård vänner fråm kompisar. Människa jag kallar för vän är provad med tid, omstandigheter och kritiska situationer.
Vän är en stöd, kärlek, tolerans, arlighet, fortroende inte bara "på grund av" men oavsett...
Så vem är Basel? Basel är Glädje som älskar se ut tuff på bilderna)) Han skrattar och skojar mycket men inte framför kameran. Han älskar djur och de är jätte stor del av hans (vårt ) liv.
If Wikipedia is to be believed the Nippon Foundation is "a private charity organization . . . founded by the late businessman Ryoichi Sasakawa who was indicted for Class A war crimes but later released. He is a self proclaimed fascist and has been linked to organized crime through his acquaintance to Yoshio Kodama. Despite its funding of many public health and welfare programs, the foundation has been criticized as an organization with right-wing, nationalist motives." They go on to point out that the foundation is currently headed by the founder's son who continues the same policies. The foundation was started with gambling money and the current chairman tried to buy a casino in New Jersey recently! I see their cars and vans everywhere in Tono where they support old people.

On the 17th September 2017 LNER A4 Gresley Pacific 4-6-2 No.60009 Union Of South Africa has just returned to Wansford from Yarwell Junction with a brake van ride. Over the weekend the Nene Valley Railway was holding its Annual Autumn Steam Gala and for a supplement of £5.00 you could have the short trip to Yarwell Junction [and back] behind Number Nine or the resident locomotive 92 Squadron.
The Van Heusen factory in Taunton was located in Victoria Street and my late mother worked in the offices there, in the summer holidays I would work in the warehouse handling great bolts of cloth. There was a second factory at Bridgwater. Now long gone the only name I know from the people standing in the entrance is my mother Joan who is in a couple of the pictures. Any indentification of the others would be a lovely addition to a small piece of Taunton's history.

He is said to be the inventor of the microscope, but that is probably not completely true. What he really did was to discover and optimize a process to make perfect spheres of glass in different sizes. These spheres could serve as magnifying glasses of different magnification. He incorporated these spheres in small precision instruments, which became his microscopes. He built approximately 200 of these microscopes, which he used to study the world of microbiology.
The plaquette in his memory dates from 1909, and is located here at the Oude Delft because people thought that his house was here. That is incorrect however, he lived in the Hippolytus area, not far from here.
Anthony van Leeuwenhoek has been burried in the Oude Kerk, of which you can see the tower here.
