FENDI MOD. SL 7295 Sunglasses. I required this pair sunglasses in 2003 at a local vintage shop NYC. D.B.L. 12mm with massive 63mm lens.

I like the lavish playboy, retro feel to it. It looks like what my grandpa would wear in 50's. The black frame is what I love the most about. The brown gradient is done very nicely too. What I dislike the most about will be the FENDI logo on the bridge, it shout out "FENDI" a bit too much to my usual liking. FENDI brand was a concern for me before the purchase. Since the brand image is more feminine. Soon the thought went over my head because If FENDI put up a MENS sunglasses, it meant to be wear by MEN. What's to worry right. This pair was meant to go with my brown suit but it goes nice with jeans & white T also.

It looks surprisingly nice on me. It is also irreplaceable in my sunglasses collection. There are times it is the only sunglasses that will present my outfit properly.

It is not a pair of sunglasses I would say, I LOVE it to death but I might not be able to walk out the door without it.

Second Harvest Japan (2HJ) recently started using a QR-code scanning system for its food inventory management. 2HJ has been doing the inventory management on a database system, but inputting data had been done manually. 2HJ staffers kept track of records on paper and input the data into the system.

This took time and caused mistakes. 2HJ has many volunteer drivers to deliver food to its partner agencies, and it was not easy for the volunteers to keep track of food donations. 2HJ staff always wanted a better system to manage the inventory. 2HJ staffer, Akira Kawada, worked with a QR-code system company, Sato, and recently launched the system.

How the QR code system works

1) Input the data of incoming donations: We input all the information about a donation such as a product name, an amount, and receiving date.

2) Print a label: When a delivery approaches, we print labels and put them on boxes accordingly. The label not only contains the information about the products but also mentions the product is not for sale and our contact information.

3) Read the label: When delivering food items to our partner agency, we use a QR hand scanner to read a QR code on the label to store the information about what items were delivered to which agency.

4) Issue a receipt: After reading a label, a mobile printer prints two copies of receipts. The agency staff member signs the copies, and they keep one copy and 2HJ keeps the other copy.

5) Sync the database: Once the truck comes back to the 2HJ office, we connect the hand scanner with a computer so that the scanner syncs with the database.

6) Print the delivery record: The system manages the information about what was given to who and when. It can print out the data quickly.

Bagattelle d’Inverno, l’ultima grande sfida #snellobb04

"If in doubt, bake a cake"

Irene Prandi

www.stuzzichevole.com

Bedfordshire Police were using Vauxhall Viva’s from the late 60’s, when they were used alongside Mini’s as panda cars.

The photograph shows a Viva HC, which was one of the later versions of the car, marked in the "red stripe" style instead of the normal blue & white two-tone.

As Vauxhall was a Bedfordshire company, the force had a long tradition of using their vehicles and the Viva was no exception. Production of the Viva was split between Luton and Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. Beginning in 1963, over 1.5 million vehicles were produced, with the millionth car rolling out of the Luton factory in 1971. Production ceased in 1979, and the car was replaced by the Vauxhall Chevette

At Bedfordshire Police our aim is "fighting crime, protecting the public."

We cover 477 square miles, serve a population of around 550,000 and employ in the region of 1,260 Police Officers, 950 police staff and 120 Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs). For more details about the force, visit our website www.bedfordshire.police.uk

The Salzburg Cathedral (German: Salzburger Dom) is a 17th century baroque cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Salzburg in the city of Salzburg, dedicated to Saint Rupert of Salzburg.

It is the site of Mozart's baptism. And the composer Anton Diabelli sang in the Salzburg Cathedral boys' choir in the late 1700s.

The first cathedral was built under Saint Vergilius of Salzburg, who might have used foundations by St. Rupert. The first Dom was recorded in 774. The so-called Virgil Dom was built from 767 to 774 and was 66 metres long and 33 metres wide.

Inside the cathedral

Archbishop Arno (785 – 821) was the first to arrange renovations of the Dom, which was in place for less than 70 years. In 842, the building burned down after being struck by lightning. Three years later, the re-erection of the building started.

Under Archbishop Hartwig, a choir with a crypt was built towards West between 1000 and 1020. Under Archbishop Konrad I., the West-towers were built from 1106 to 1147.

This original church thus experienced at least three extensive building and rebuilding campaigns during the early Middle Ages, the final result of which was a somewhat ad hoc Romanesque basilica. In 1598, the basilica was severely damaged, and after several failed attempts at restoration and reconstruction, the building was finally ordered to be demolished by Prince-Archbishop Wolf Dietrich (Archbishop from 1587–1612). Wolf Dietrich was a patron and supporter of modern Italian baroque architecture, having seen it from its origins in Italy and particularly Rome. Indeed, it was Wolf Dietrich who was also responsible for the building of the nearby Alten Residenz, which is today connected to the cathedral.

the purchase

PHOTO NUMBER 1 OF 3

Walking into an old shop with relics and antiques in China Town, the old Chinese man handed the minipimp an umbrella.

"Ah yes, 'mbella you want? That be 5 dolla", said the man that seemed to be about 500 years old. The young girl handed the man her weekly allowance.

This was it thought the girl. The ad in the newspaper clipping she found on the city streets claimed that this umbrella was magic.

"Yes yes you see right here you just wave around like this kay? You do real good kay honey?", said the man in a very fast voice while waving around the umbrella. Minipimp assumed this was his way of giving instruction on how to use it.

"Seems easy enough", she thought to herself.

So the little girl walked outside and down to the end of the block. She twirled the umbrella around. She waved it up and down. She tapped it against a building. She shoved it into a hole made for recycled cans. She twirled it, waved it, and bounced it.

Nothing.

And just as she was about to give up, she looked over at the shop she purchased this umbrella. And inside the display she saw the Chinese man. And from she could make out, he kind of winked at her. She found this most bizarre because it was not the kind of expression you would typically get from an old Asian man.

But just as he did, he seemed to disappear. Or maybe he fell. Or maybe she wasn't seeing it correctly through the stained glass window. She wasn't sure.

But what she does know is that the minute the man seemed to disappear, something actually appeared on the umbrella.

Using the egyptian blue lotus, which is similar to our waterlily, as my inspiration, I created this statement necklace for the November Etsy Beadweavers Team Challenge.

The focal piece is a combination of bead embroidery and beadweaving using peyote, brick and picot stitches in the weaving as well as couching in the embroidery. Ten Swarovski Rivolios are bezeled in peyote on the pendant forming the centers of the flowers that float on their lily pads in the river. The pendant is backed in soft suede leather. The necklace portion is made of triple strands of freeform weaving in shades of green and blue and closes with a sterling silver toggle.

Nymo thread was used throughout, and glass sead beads ranging from size 11 to size 15 create the bulk of the piece with a few accent beads in size 8. All the beadweaving done in this piece was done without a loom - just thread and a very fine needle.

The rivolis on the focal pendant are either 12 or 14 mm in diameter. The pendant itself is 4.75 inches x 2.5 inches (12 cm x 6.3 cm). The necklace is 8 inches (20.3 cm) long

... on an Epson R-D1x using a Novoflex LEM/LEI adapter for LTM lenses to Leica M-Mount bayonet.

Caveat emptor: That adapter does not allow this lens to be focused to infinity because of the spring-loaded infinity-locking bolt. You have to focus the lens to around 10 meters before mounting the adapter. In actual terms this is not a problem because you can focus to 12 meters. and even at largest aperture the depth of field will be large enough to cover all larger distances. So, no sweat.

Even wide open (okay, I mean at f/3.5), sharpness is acceptable around the center - if you don't enlarge the image too much, which of course people did not do when that lens was new - but the image goes very soft in the corners. Nice contrast and overall a very "vintage" look.

Test conditions were admittedly rather harsh - 8:30 in the morning in early January with a complete, dense overcast means very little light. The next test should be in sunny weather, stopped down. Sharpness should then improve significantly.

London bus cavalcade - Regent Street

Edible Uses: Fruit,

Fruit - raw or cooked. A thin, rather juicy flesh. It is sometimes eaten. There is some debate as to whether the fruit is edible or slightly toxic. The fruit is about 10mm in diameter and contains 2 - 3 small seeds. An extract of the bark, with the bitterness removed (by drying?) is a common flavoring for soft drinks, baked goods and ice cream.

MEDICINAL USES: Laxative, Purgative,

Cascara has been widely used as a gentle laxative that restores tone to the bowel muscles and thus makes repeated doses unnecessary. The bark is used; it was once harvested on a commercial basis from wild trees and on plantations in western N. America. Today there are no longer any local markets for cascara bark harvested from the wild. Thje bark should be harvested in the autumn or spring, at least 12 months before it is used medicinally, in order to allow the more violent purgative effect to be mollified with age. Three year old bark is considered to be the best age. It is considered suitable for delicate and elderly persons and is very useful in cases of chronic constipation. The bark also has tonic properties promoting gastric digestion and appetite. As well as its uses as a laxative, it is taken internally in the treatment of digestive complaints, hemorrhoids, liver problems and jaundice. This remedy should be used with caution since in excess it causes vomiting and diarrhea. It should not be prescribed for pregnant or lactating women, or patients with intestinal obstruction. An infusion of the bark is sometimes painted over finger nails in the hope that the bitter taste will deter the person from biting their nails.

CAUTION: There is the suggestion that this species could be mildly poisonous. Excessive use can cause cramps and diarrhea. Limit treatment to 8-10 days. Long term use can be habit forming. Fresh cascara can cause a bloody diarrhea and vomiting. The bark should be aged for at least 1 year, or heat treated. Do not use on children.

Other Uses : Dye, Green, Wood

A green dye is obtained from the bark. Plants are sometimes grown in America as an ornamental hedge. Wood - light, soft, not strong. Used for making the handles of small tools.
