udon "spaghetti" with on-the-fly sauce and sauteed radicchio
for the sauce, I turn the heat on a pan and then start chopping, adding as I go. This is: tumeric, italian fry pepper, white onion, crushed tomato, white wine, fresh oregano, raw cane sugar, olive oil and butter.
purple potato salad with creme fraiche, oregano peppadew juice and tangerine zest
interesting to note that most of the many spices and plants that grow in zanzibar were originally planted by the omani sultans.. you can find everything fresh - cloves, nutmeg, tumeric, pepper, vanilla, cinnamon, ylang-ylang, etc.. the place smells amazing
Today we've got some major curry: marinated goat (recipe to follow), roasted & peeled poblano pepper, sauteed onion & red bell pepper in olive oil & apple cider vinegar, frozen peas, sun-dried tomato, summer squash, spring onion, ginger, roasted garlic, coconut milk, lemongrass tea, pepper, kosher salt, tumeric, paprika, cayanne, a touch of maple syrup. Served over leftover rice & peas pulao from the indian restaurant .
The recipe that kicked it all off:

Here's the curry powder I used:

I chose it because it's sugar free. It does have a little salt though.

sweating the carrots, parsnips, mushrooms, onions, crystalized ginger. Added roasted squash and chicken stock next. Will simmer for something like 1 hour and then stick an immersion blender in it and make it creamy.
Zuber - every morning for a week before the weddings family members and relatives apply tumeric paste to the bodies of the brides and grooms. The tumeric adds a glowing color to the skin and also acts as a scub cleaning and refresing the skin.
A little overboard on the ferments this morning. Olives, kimchi, fermented cauliflower, sausage, eggs, pico, fermented green chilis and tumeric ginger ale. #fermented #glutenfree #dairyfree #lowcarb #keto #ketogenic #ketosis #paleo #grainfree #kimchi #greenchili #cauliflower screwdecaf.cx/yatc.html

Tumeric rice is considered 'sacred' and is an offering to the 'gods'. When a baby is one month old, the Chinese (of non-Christian faith) will offer this yellow rice to their ancestors and also give to friends and families as a celebration of the baby's birth.
