Spent the 4th of July morning promoting animal welfare in Houston’s East End. As almost always, we meet abandoned animals; the rescuer seen here gaining the trust of this bedraggled, homeless dog. This is an incredible lady who works endlessly for animal rights and, perhaps with the exception of one other person, has rescued more animals than anyone else I personally know.
After seeing some yesterday I did go looking for redwings etc but no luck

The garden team consists of the Head Gardener, Assistant Head Gardener and four full-time gardeners, aided by two National Trust trainees, a college placement and many volunteers.
Their aim is to present this natural paradise at its best to the 350,000 annual visitors, whilst also caring for the walled gardens and greenhouses near Stourhead House. Their challenge is to balance the needs of visitors with those of conservation.

Choupette is a wild little cat, but she has come to love my youngest niece and she runs for snuggles as soon as she sees her. It's a truly beautiful bond.

The Iveagh Trust is a provider of affordable housing in and around Dublin, Ireland. It was initially a component of the Guinness Trust, founded in 1890 by Edward Cecil Guinness, 1st Earl of Iveagh, great-grandson of the founder of the Guinness Brewery, to help homeless people in Dublin and London.
