Impressionism means taking inspiration directly from nature, trusting your senses rather than what you think you know.

This is not an image that I normally would have posted. With the exception of cropping, it is precisely as it came out of the camera. Surprising in that of the many photos taken on the lake this day, this looked completely different from all the others in every way...tone, color and, of course, blur. It was the blur which initially discouraged me from uploading, but I was repeatedly drawn back to it tho surrounded by numerous other shots of greater technical merit. And processing efforts did nothing to impact my initial "impression." So here it is....for better or for worse. At least I can stop looking at it for a while...

It's a quote of Mark Twain and i start thinking who do or did i trust the most...... yes my dogs.

Thanks for the visit have a nice day

it will only hurt a little.

Great Photography is about depth of feeling, not depth of field.

The Serpentine River is (or was as it is now almost dry) a serpentine water feature comprising a series of ponds running south to north on the east side of the parkland. Its construction was by the First Earl of Strafford (1738). The Serpentine Bridge was built by the Second Earl in 1758 on the line of the tree lined drive up to the house from the Strafford Gate which provided the main access from the north. It is listed Grade II.

This is what the things can teach us: to fall, patiently to trust our heaviness.

Even a bird has to do that before he can fly.

Like the winds blowing

Changes fast and growing

I knew better than...

To trust myself

To trust someone else

To trust the doubt in the back of my mind

Trust the trail of pain left behind...

Yes, I knew better than

I knew better than to trust love again...

This quote resonates with me because I’m always more comfortable around nature than other people. While both are unpredictable, nature has no nefarious intentions, only pureness.

I have a notebook with me pretty much all of the time. Pocket sized ones like these are perfect for when I’m on the go and I love nature themes. These were done in collaboration with AllTrails, a site we find very useful!

Almost every week there is filmmaking in my neighborhood .... Yesterday I decided to take some shots ....

Seen on the trail in Yosemite

It was lovely on Saturday, with the sun out and warm enough that people were carrying their coats. What a change today, grey skies and pouring with rain. I am off tomorrow for a spa day which I booked prior to my accident. I normally do one at this time of year as it helps me chill during an extremely hectic time of year at work. However, due to my changed circumstances I had debated whether or not to go. Unfortunately, it was pre-paid and I was unable to cancel, so we will see what happens. I am hoping the pool is one I can walk into rather than having to climb down anyway worse case scenario is me just having to lounge around all day with a book - I can think of worse things - lol

Note..Thankyou to everyone who has commented, faved and viewed this photograph, much appreciated. and not forgetting Explore..thanks.

Trust to a point,

but they'd just as soon not look at each other.

I could understand the RS not looking at the butt ugly TV,

but can't understand why the TV wouldn't look at the handsome SR. Jealousy??

Note:

This is a 2 capture composite image,

with one capture was focused on the TV,

and the other focused on the RS.

I could have gotten both in good focus at ƒ/22,

but favored a larger aperture (ƒ/4.5) to get better subject isolation from the background.

Snowshill Manor was the property of Winchcombe Abbey from 821 until 1539 when the Abbey was confiscated by King Henry VIII during the Dissolution of the Monasteries. Between 1539 and 1919 it had a number of tenants and owners until it was purchased by Charles Paget Wade, an architect, artist-craftsman, collector, poet and heir to the family fortune. He restored the property, living in the small cottage in the garden and using the manor house as a home for his collection of objects. He gave the property and the contents of this collection to the National Trust in 1951. There are two aspects of Snowshill Manor: its garden and the manor house, which is now home to Wade's eclectic collection. The garden at Snowshill was laid out by Wade, in collaboration with Arts and Crafts movement architect, M. H. Baillie Scott, between 1920 and 1923 as a series of outside rooms seen as an extension to the house. Features include terraces and ponds. The manor house is a typical Cotswold house, made from local stone; the main part of the house dates from the 16th century. Today, the main attraction of the house is perhaps the display of Wade's collection. From 1900 until 1951, when he gave the Manor to the National Trust, Wade amassed an enormous and eclectic collection of objects reflecting his interest in craftsmanship. The objects in the collection include 26 suits of Japanese samurai armour dating from the 17th and 19th centuries; bicycles; toys; musical instruments and more. On 5 October 2003, the house was closed and its entire contents removed in order to effect a number of repairs. In particular, the electrical wiring needed updating, new fire, security and environmental monitoring systems were installed, and the existing lighting was improved. The house reopened on 25 March 2005.

Thank you very much for your comments and faves, regretfully, I am finding it increasingly difficult to reply to your comments, because of my very limited time on the internet, due to constant power interruptions in South Africa. I do read and appreciate every one of them, however! Thanks again!!

I trust you enough to peel back my protective shell, my layers of doubt and fear, until I am completely exposed to you.

Probably the most photographed part of Fountains Abbey because of it's architecture, it is quite a challenge especially as the lighting depends on the weather that day, I tried processing my image as a black & white but decided to keep it a colour image as it shows the effect better... Some of the Earl of Beaconsfield's collection of plaster busts of people he admired brought in from other properties where they had been stored.

I try to treat all creatures with respect and here I have built up an understanding which is based on the trust we have for each other.

I can now offer just half a small sausage and he will take it from between my fingers in a most careful, delicate manner. We can then sit for a while in each other’s company. He yawning, scratching and relaxing; me talking gently and reassuringly.

The rewards to my patience are not only a form of friendship, but surprisingly, an added contentment in my life.

I can also take photographs with ease which might otherwise be very difficult, if not impossible to obtain.
