Thursday we went to the Clergy House in Alfriston, Sussex, and snapped 4 chairs for my National Trust chairs project.

The property was the first to be purchased by the National Trust in 1896. Up until then, the NT had only acquired land for use by one and all.

Burrowing Owl (Athene cunicularia), Hawk Conservancy Trust, Andover, Hampshire, UK. 2023/06/12.

Was in my sister's computer room today and turned around to see Frodo "wedged" under her chair, sound asleep in front of her heater.

He often nestles under her chair, but today he was actually under the leg of her chair. Just goes to show how much he trusts us.

Sweet kitty-dreams little boy. You are a source of endless joy to both my sister and me. And the occasional photo op doesn't hurt either.

The National Churches Trust describes St Mary's in Potterne as a “an Early English church of exceptional purity and austerity.”

A priest, and land held by the Bishop of Salisbury, was recorded at Potterne in Domesday Book of 1086, and in Victorian times, a 10th Century font was found on the site of the present day Church of England parish church of St Mary. It was built in the 13th century and has survived with little change, beyond work to the tower in the 15th century and restoration by Ewan Christian. Pevsner describes it as, “An Early English parish church of exceptional purity and indeed classicity” and linked this to the Bishops’ ownership of the manor.

The church is cruciform, with a substantial tower over the crossing, and original lancet windows. It is built of rubble stone, with ashlar to the upper tower. The south porch was added in the 14th century, and in the 15th the tower was made higher and given an elaborate battlement. Restoration in 1870–2 included re-roofing and the removal of galleries, and the stained glass is from various dates in that century.

Since the 11th century, the church has been linked to All Saints at West Lavington as tithes from both churches endowed a prebendary at Salisbury Cathedral. From 1967 the benefice was held in plurality with Worton and since 2017 the parish has been part of the Wellsprings benefice, which extends to Seend, Bulkington and Poulshot.

Trust love.

That's pretty much it.

Except maybe eat more chocolate.

It took us half an hour to earn his trust. First came a she, who hesitated. She went and brought her mate/friend who showed more valor and courage.

Shot on full manual - loved this experience of engaged photography

This idea came to my mind instantly when I saw this dress, I knew that I wanted for some reason to create something about forgiveness. I wanted the pose to look uncomfortable, because forgiving can be uncomfortable too and sometimes nearly impossible.

Difficult to earn but easily broken.

Trust is like glass-once broken the cracks will forever show.

Thank you for taking a look. HFF📷

Catching up on my photos from our Cornwall trip in March as Monday is always my gardening day @ Home & never go out. This is National Trusts Godolphin house. Most not open to public & used as holiday appartments. Gardens are kept in the format of when the house was the centre of a large mining estate

Located in the vestibule of Basilica of Saints Cyril and Methodius.

None of us knows what might happen even the next minute, yet still we go forward. Because we trust. Because we have Faith. - Paulo Coelho

Created for the Self Portrait Sunday theme "Trust".

“If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together, there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart.. I'll always be with you.”

I think I "stole" the composition idea from Steve :-)

I know that I should have tried such techniques before, but for some reason this was my first attempt at a photo merge. Two bracketed shots were taken of the priory, one over exposed and one under. Given the time of day and the fading light I feel that this merge is a true representation of the light at the time.

I should consider myself lucky to live just a couple of miles from Nostell. It is a location and estate that we take for granted, but a most worthwhile visit. This house was built in 1733 on the site of a much older priory and house and since 1953 it has been in the care of the National Trust. I'm not particularly interested in old furniture, however for those interested the house has a superb collection of Chippendale furniture that was made for the Winn family (the long time owners of the house and estate).

It takes a lot of patience, but it's well worth it! My friend(or so I'd like to think)....the red fox.
