Fledgling Forster's Tern receives a deposit of gulf menhaden from its parent on Armand Bayou.

Spanish Moss growing on trees.

This picture was taken in December 2012 when I visited a horse training farm in Florida.

In March I had an opportunity to visit my sister in Victoria, Texas. While visiting we toured many areas where I was able to get a photo shoot in. On this day we stayed in Victoria and traveled to the outskirts where this lazy river was flowing. Right on that river bank was a bar and grill where we relaxed with a Martini and shrimp. Such a nice view from their outdoor deck! Some of the views are abstract with many reflections. I will be uploading each place separately as I get them ready to view. A pine cone from the Red Pine tree.

AF was a bit off on this one (The pine needles above the pine cone got it), but I thought it was nice enough to post.

It was a fast visit to Morton Arboretum. Remnants of Hurricane Patricia made their way into Illinois on Tuesday, I left with a handful of shots before the rain came in. The Fall color was on the downside.

On a recent hike I stopped to take a phone call from my son. Standing still for a while to chat it was amazing to watch the action of the birds around me. I hooked my phone on a nearby branch so I could talk, but not miss anything and caught this lovely Yellow Rumped Warbler when he landed on this branch.

Something a little different for me. Taking a walk through Garden of the Gods and captured this little fellow. He plays off the red rocks of the park very well!

Winter

El invierno nos recuerda que siempre hay belleza y luz, incluso en los momentos más fríos.

Red-tailed hawk on clear sunny morning.

I took this shot as sunset was approaching, in a very rugged area where it was impossible to set up my tripod with good footing because of all the branches tangled up on the ground like vines. But then I discovered by rocking my camera on the tripod [as if it were a monopod], it was possible to catch a ray of flickering light piercing thru the trees. At f 1.8, the bokeh appeared magical like dancing spheres of heavenly light. I did my best to brace the camera so there was little camera movement at an exposure of 1/320 sec.
