I hope you didn't think I was done posting brown bears...cuz I've got a ways to go 😉 This bear was so intent on breaking that tree branch. It pulled on it, tried walking on it, tugged and tugged until it finally broke. It wasn't until the branch was completely free that the bear was happy because it wanted a play toy!
Along the nature trail, this White Squirrel saw me, than ran up into this Pine tree. He stayed there for a long time not moving, thinking he was concealed by the pine needles. He was waiting for his chance to escape, if I moved away.

A beautiful backlit juvenile Cooper's Hawk (Accipiter cooperii) perched high in the backyard Garry oak tree keenly observing its surroundings.

Found this chipmunk about 15 ft up in a tree washing himself. I've never seen a chipmunk that high up in a tree before, such a delightful surprise to see! Perhaps he's learning the ways of the squirrels?...

This starling feasting our neighbour's apple tree in January 2018. Amazing the tree is still nearly full of apples after autumn, surviving snow & frost.
Officially now Winter and the leaves are still falling. Taken in a local park.
