The Squirrel was watching every move I made! They are always wary!

In March I had an opportunity to visit my sister in Victoria, Texas. While visiting we toured many areas where I was able to get a photo shoot in. On this day we stayed in Victoria and traveled to the outskirts where this lazy river was flowing. Right on that river bank was a bar and grill where we relaxed with a Martini and shrimp. Such a nice view from their outdoor deck! Some of the views are abstract with many reflections. I will be uploading each place separately as I get them ready to view. Piney Grove Preserve

Prairie warblers are misnamed, as they are found in scrubby fields, not the prairies of the midwest. Perhaps early nature-watchers mistook such fields for prairies. Or perhaps, due to the lack of large scale logging at earlier times in history, such fields just seemed like prairies in comparison to the forest. In any case, these warblers can be found in the central and southern parts of eastern North America, as well parts of the south central portion of the continent.

In 2009 I took a photo of a pine tree looking straight up the trunk.

I loved the result, and have been collecting other peoples ones in my flickr galleries ever since.

Here's my latest attempt.

Close up view of a Cooper’s Hawk.

Taken in Victoria Park, in Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada.

We went hiking in the hills of Saratoga, California. I mostly wear cargo pants pocket, so that I can casually take along my crop sensor Sony camera. We passed by a munch of oak trees, and I was compelled to look straight up.

I processed a paintery, a vibrant, and a photographic HDR photo from two RAW exposures, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

About a minute after I took this shot, a Cooper's Hawk flew through the yard and all the birds scattered. I think these two spotted the hawk long before I did. The Coop came up empty that time.

Es hat heute den ganzen Tag dicke Flocken geschneit. Als zugezogener Norddeutscher findet man das doch sehr faszinierend ;)
