As my wife and I were beginning our Saturday, I noticed the beautiful sunrise colors in the sky and snapped a few pictures.
Storm clouds gathering as I was leaving work. By the time I got close to home, I was seeing lighting. Then soon after my wife and I were home, it started to rain.
Decided to take a few pictures before heading off to work this morning. It was foggy, and just as I walked outside, the sun broke through. I was able to capture a few pictures of the fog before it lifted. The wooded area is a short walk from where my wife and I reside.
Trees in the neighborhood where my wife and I live. I've always admired the character in the dead tree.
I was a bit startled when I heard a loud flapping & a female wood duck landed in the tree beside me.

On this last day of February, I find new leaves are again coming back on the branches of trees once bare. The colors of the young leaves, I find beautiful. Even more so against the bright morning sun and the blue sky!

My wife and I vacationed with family at a farmhouse in Virginia. Here are some autumn foliage shots I took on Sunday afternoon.
A Dark-eyed Junco (Junco hyemalis) stopped is busy inspection of the rocks for a quick pose. It lasted about a half second!
Our dog decided to wake my wife and I up early today. Since I was awake at daybreak, I decided to get some morning shots in our yard.

On Friday January 21st, and early Saturday January 22nd, my wife and I experienced a winter storm. We woke up to about 2 inches of snow accumulation this morning.
My wife and her family were wading in Wolf Creek. I decided to take a few pictures of the area instead of wading.

As the sun came out, the snow began to melt. However a deep freeze this evening, means my wife and I will have snow and ice again tomorrow before it warms up in the afternoon.

On the edge of the property where my wife and I live is a crepe myrtle. I noticed recently that the leaves for this season have started to appear.
He kept turning his head in different directions. It was like he wanted me to admire his bug from all angles. Then after this shot, he abruptly flew off and out of sight. What a cutie.

With Easter upon us, and these bizarre, worldwide circumstances as they are, I remembered this gorgeous treasure hanging in my china cupboard. Since we never put up a Christmas tree, but instead, assembled a simple white branch with lights and an elegant collection of hand-crocheted snowflakes (thank you Dear Terry) which now remind me of stars, I decided to hang an ornament which is well over 100 years old! This was constructed from a REAL eggshell!
Today has been rainy and stormy with a few lightening and thunder bursts, but also with an incredible peacefulness. Blessings to all who do or do not celebrate Easter . . . it is still a Holy time, and I'm in awe at how we humans have come together to help one another get through the most surreal time of our lives . . .
