We all go about doing what we think is best, what’s the most important, what will get us ahead. That’s not always true; external forces come along and change things in a fleeting moment, and what was once normal is no longer. All we can do is adapt, and adapt we shall.
These sentiments evoke one of my all-time favourite songs by Pink Floyd—Eclipse:
All that you touch and all that you see
All that you taste, all you feel
And all that you love and all that you hate
All you distrust, all you save
And all that you give and all that you deal
And all that you buy, beg, borrow, or steal
And all you create and all you destroy
And all that you do and all that you say
And all that you eat and everyone you meet (Everyone you meet)
And all that you slight and everyone you fight
And all that is now and all that is gone
And all that’s to come and everything under the sun is in tune
But the sun is eclipsed by the moon
Roger Waters
The top of this broken tree is hollow. She was looking up at the male above her & quacking, I assume wanting him to come and look. I watched them check out a lot of different tree cavities.

My wife and I decided to visit Luther Britt Park this afternoon. I snapped this image while walking alongside one of the ponds on the property.
My wife and I have a neighbor whose dogwood tree is blooming. I snapped a few pictures of the tree from the side of the street this evening.
I believe this is a youngster calling for a parent to come with food. Very loud, followed the sound and found it.

I could not resist just one more shot of Papa looking fierce in profile. He was keeping an eye on everything going on in his territory.

He was very busy digging insects out of the decaying wood. Eating what he found so fast I never had a chance to see anything. Could be ants, could be insect larvae or little beetles.
