Beautiful Jacaranda on a sunny day in Lisbon

After my wife left for work, I snapped a few pictures of the wooded area in our neighborhood.

Tree branches, sky and clouds near my wife's garden this evening.

After a severe thunderstorm went through we had an interesting sky. After the rain my wife and our dog were outside. I was inside and she sent me a text that there was a rainbow. The sky opposite the rainbow was a bright yellow sky. I snapped this picture after the storm.

What has made the tiny spotted owlets (Athene brama) very successful survivors is that they are keen observers!

Even while resting in their tree hole during the day, any commotion outside the nest would instantly draw a little face out of the hole with curious eyes peering and scrutinizing the surroundings.

Not far from where my wife and I reside there is a wooded area. I snapped a few pictures of the autumn foliage in that patch of woods.

At the end of our street is a field with a wooded area on two sides of the field. I snapped this picture of the trees this evening while taking a walk with my wife.

February 23, 2020 - Frozen camellias. A majority of the blossoms on the camellia tree were frozen and are going by due to temperatures in the 20's at night the past couple of nights. The tree is located on the edge of the property that my wife and I own.

While we were hiking, we came across all these dead branches in Kodachrome Basin State Park. For some reason, this reminded me of an evil monkey striking out or a giant lizard. What do you see?

After reaching inside the bark, the nuthatch showed off the prize. I am not sure what it is but my best 3 guesses are larva, grub or cocoon.

It is rare to have winter weather in our part of North Carolina. Sees like most winters we get maybe 2 or 3 storms maximum. Today we had ice due to freezing rain. I snapped a few pictures of the ice on the property where my wife and I reside.

Taking a break from the news, out I went with my new camera, looking for something that was not winter-gray. Moss is green all year 'round, so I shot this. My hope for this new camera is to take shots with good bokeh, so I was *somewhat* pleased with this - except that I cant find a single part of it that is in focus! It was cloudy and dim [and hand-held], so there's some clues.

So I went back out today, in much better light [see below] - but I don't like that picture at all - even tho part of it is in focus.

Obviously, I'll have to persevere at this! I'm not used to this serious tool. I set the ISO to be 200. why is it 3200?

can't get enough of these beautiful blossoms.

Decided to take a few pictures before heading off to work this morning. It was foggy, and just as I walked outside, the sun broke through. I was able to capture a few pictures of the fog before it lifted. The wooded area is a short walk from where my wife and I reside.

After a rainy day, it turned out to be a beautiful evening. After my wife and I returned home from work I snapped a few pictures.

It was late blooming this year, but the crepe myrtle on my wife's and my property has finally started to blossom.

On Friday January 21st, and early Saturday January 22nd, my wife and I experienced a winter storm. We woke up to about 2 inches of snow accumulation this morning.

It's been almost a month since I posted anything.

My friend, Ryan, helped me take this! I definitely thought I was going to die on this tree. Haha!

There will be so many more pictures on my Tumblr!
