The light flows from their branches.

And they call again, “It’s simple,”

they say, “and you, too, have come

into the world to do this, to go easy,

to be filled with light, and to shine.”

EXPLORE!

Eucalyptus deglupta is a tall tree, commonly known as the rainbow eucalyptus, Mindanao gum, or rainbow gum. It is the only Eucalyptus species found naturally in the Northern Hemisphere. Its natural distribution spans New Britain, New Guinea, Seram, Sulawesi and Mindanao.

The unique multi-hued bark is the most distinctive feature of the tree. Patches of outer bark are shed annually at different times, showing a bright green inner bark. This then darkens and matures to give blue, purple, orange and then maroon tones.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL

This mango tree covers quite a bit of our garden, but it also provides much needed cooling shade. Very few mangoes this year, we are in competition with large fruit bats and bush babies (a kind of small nocturnal monkey) when it is harvesting time. The two shrubs in front (the yellow Croton and the palm tree) are examples of my failed attempt to contain plants in "container garden". For more info see the set

the marks? I now understand thanks to the members of the MF & LF group on FB that this is due to the way this roll has been stored, perhaps in damp or hot conditions and the backing paper lending something extra to the emulsion on the film. Not all the frames are as affected as these, it seems a blue sky and a small aperture enhance it.

Been having some medical problems so not very active...this image was taken when I first got my DSLR more than five years ago. This is a repost from back then with some Topaz tweaking.

Where I was standing was while taking this photo was so slippery I was barely able to walk.

A wide angle adapter was put on the end of my lens to get this shot of some trees in my front yard.

This is a picture of the lychee tree that I grew in Italy. It lasted almost two years, but during the second autumn we left it outside too long and it died from the frost. I have not been able to grow one in Hawaii no matter how hard I try. In Italy I did not try at all. Go figure.

Spotted these fallen tree trunks covered with green moss on the way to the White Moss car park.
