One of the things about having a dog is that you have to leave your house a few times a day.
For me it's a good thing otherwise I would bury myself in and wake up in the spring...
Just when I was ready to go outside I noticed that a sudden fog had changed the world into this mysterious silent world where everything looked so different.
I am not certain if this bud is characteristic, but if it is we can tell this tree from A. mandshuricum by these comparitively shorter terminal buds, hardly longer than the auxiliaries.
A walk around the pond at Ashby Ville at Scunthorpe. Taken with NightCap Pro. Long Exposure mode, 5.05 second exposure, 1/100s shutter speed.
The day is cloudy but I took the picture anyway. During the winter our sky is overcast a lot. It does not get really cold very often.

I love the Tamarack trees but I have so much trouble photographing them. I'm going to have to go in on stilts some day and get up where I have better views.
