I don't know why I like to take pictures of trash, but I do. I like the various textures in this photo, and I like how the black and white treatment brings out those textures.
This was the trash can at my mechanic's shop. I thought it was a planter. I stared at this for hours, then as I finally took my camera out and shot this, I noticed it was full of trash. So I had lots of time to kill. I took dozens of shots of this, from every angle, perspective. This was the only shot that 100% accurately depicts the actual colors of this 'trash can', the wall, the floor, etc,... something hard to do when I was shooting in low-light, indoors, no flash (I hate what the flash does sometimes to things, way to harsh...). To compensate for the low-light I was shooting at f/1.4. Not such a great shot, I know, but it was so funny how 'they' watched me, get down on my knees and shoot their trash can. Heck, I stared at it all day, gave them all my money...I asked if I could shoot it, they were confused, but most gracious as they let me 'go to town' in the waiting room.
Shouldn't it be easier to take a bottle along when you leave? It's lighter than at a time you took it to the place.
I passed by a trash can in front of the Waterside Complex, and this Tim Kaine for govenor sticker was stuck to the trash can.
Guess they didn't like him!

The goal of this extremely popular event is to get students at this Bay Area K-8th Grade school thinking differently about waste in order to create positive behavior change.

To a vulture, I'm not sure that trash stinking is a bad thing. Taken at Camp Gecko, Bahia de Los Angeles in Baja California, Mexico.
These animal trash cans have been in this zoo as long as I can remember and I hope they never get rid of them... and if they do, I hope I happen to be passing by the dumpster in a pick-up truck with an able-bodied friend or two to help me with them.

Couple of fun shots I took of my friends sister Madelene during a Trash the Dress Session we did in the city a while back.
For this one I did a 2 light setup with one sb800 flash behind her bare and one sb800 in front shot through a lastolite trigrip. Triggered them both with CLS.
This bird is made up of various clean trash. It is held together with wire, string and a bit of hot glue.

Schult's "Trash People" was originally installed in 1996 in Germany and included one thousand such lifesize human figures, constructed from items retrieved from a dump in Cologne.
You must have heard of trash e-mail, but do you hear of "trash" e-mail box? If you haven't heard of, don't worry, I will give you a good example. Eyou.com which is a Beijing-based IT company, had supplied me this kind of e-mail box. During the passing year, more than 200 spams had been "kindly" kept in the inbox, waiting for me to read. Interestingly, all of these e-mails were from foreign countries. I am so glad that I was so welcomed in the foreign countries, and special thanks must give to eyou.com which bridge the relation between me and the foreigners, but it's quite regret that I have no time to read them.
