The employee at the hardware store shot me a side glance when she found me reaching into a trash can with my iPhone to capture this shot. For a few strange moments I might as well have been at the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York City or any modernist gallery but I was in the paint department of Goody's Hardware in East Haven, Connecticut. That's right, the entire black plastic trash can was empty but lined with splattered paint in mostly red, yellow, ochre and white. It was a remarkable find ala Jackson Pollock, a fine example of accidental modernist art. Voila!

This is a view looking straight down into the trash can. The photo I uploaded yesterday shows one interior side of the same trash can.

Some trash from Easter day, including banana peels, carrot tops and water bottles. Don't worry, the bottles are recycled, just threw it all together for Macro Mondays trash theme! HMM.

Macro Monday's and the theme of "Trash".

I had to post this week as I am used to uploading rubbish photos anyway.

I haven't uploaded for quite a few weeks due really to being very busy at home but this weeks theme was too good to miss.

This is the wrapper of a Lindor chocolate produced by the company Lindt.

It is placed on the wrapper of an Easter egg, both of which are in the bin long before editing and uploading.

I tried around five different apertures with three different compositions and decided to go for this one as I quite liked the bokeh in the background.

Sally and I enjoyed watching a Trash Bug in our garden last year. The 2020 one isn't quite as colorful (see comments section). I went inside to look for a bit of glitter (to see if he would pile it on), but he disappeared and then it rained.

Seems a Western Grebe (on the nest) and a Clark’s Grebe (in the water) have successfully built a nest together and hatched at least one chick. I didn’t see the chick today, however.

Hello everyone, it has been a while since my last post, I think it is almost a month since my last flickr shot. Expo has kept me busy for the first and second week of the month, then I wasn't feeling well after that. Right now I am helping a friend making catalogue for her spa products. It was my second voluntary project...the first was in a cake shop belong to a friend too.

Anyway, the above bag is made from refill plastic packaging waste. I met Mrs. Denny, one of the few women in Jakarta who joined the scavenger project by creating something to reduce the plastic waste from the households. Yes...we have to save our planet so we can live and grow.

Happy MM everybody

My husband was finishing up his piece of Carrot cake and

doesn't like the icing. He was about to throw it into the trash when I rescued it. So this is my tasty trash macro before it disappeared. HMM & HTT!

This is the plastic netting used to enclose fruit in a recyclable plastic container - bought from a local supermarket.

The labelling confirmed that the net is not currently recycled. The little cut out fish measures 6.5cm

I decided to use this as my subject for this weeks challenge to highlight the devastation of plastic netting in our oceans.

A lesser-known source of ocean plastic pollution is lost, abandoned and discarded fishing gear from commercial boats and fish farming causing untold damage to marine life and underwater ecosystems.

It's estimated that commercial fishing boats leave behind more than 700,000 tons of plastic waste each year.
