ODC is And then it was....
And then it was .... an opened gift whose wrapping paper that was being thrown away. My sister plays "Santa" - distributing gifts then we take turns throwing our discarded wrapping paper at her to catch in the trash bag. I was trying to remember how we got started with the tradition - but its been going on for quite a while now. It is actually more organized that way.
Signage that can be blown up and posted above your trash collection bin.
*Rule of Thumb: Every can should be labeled and always have your trash and recycling receptacles next to each other*
Many drop of locations accept glass and the Houston Sort Center will accept glass starting in the first quarter of 2011!
Beach Trash
05 May 2014 -- 125/365
Barrington, Rhode Island
I was originally planning to go downcity for some street photography at lunch. After several meetings this morning, though, it quickly evolved - or should I say, it quickly devolved - into a day that demanded ice cream. Hot Fudge Sundae kind of ice cream, to be exact. The only seasonal place that's open right now, though, is in Bullocks Point, so that's the way I went. I stopped at Haines Point (which is close to the ice cream place) hoping there would be people around, but sadly, the park is still empty. I noticed this bit of trash lying on the beach, though, and thought it would make an interesting composition. Whether it was tossed here or washed up with the tide is unknown, but either way, it's trash and doesn't belong on a beach. For those that are wondering, though, the ice cream was delicious.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
Anyone have any idea what is going on here? This is adjacent to a home about 70 years old that is in ok shape.... Off of Blue Ridge Blvd, KC, Mo. It may be this is just a trash dump....dunno

09/12/08 - Wilmington, DE - trash.down - Harry McCants, 46, of Wilmington, walks through the trash that he dumped from inner city Wilmington at the Cherry Island Landfill in Wilmington Friday, September 12, 2008. The average tons being dumped per day has dropped from 2100 to an average of 1700 in August. Operations technician Joel Haley says that the amount of trash makes it seem like it is "almost like trash is a prediction of how the future is gonna play out," as far as the economy is concerned.
