I had 5 subjects, including the bell by itself, but I liked this one the best. And I learned some things about working/shooting in high key
Lafayette, Colorado.....the mouse is actually just a play toy...the traps were set to keep my friend's cats from using this area as their bathroom :-)

Despite fabulous wider views and a variety of subjects during my recent trip to North Wales it was this little scene at my feet that was my favourite take-home image of the week. I'd been attracted by the fluttering of the leaf with every gust of wind and I thought it would escape at any minute but it did hang on until I'd made this focus-stacked image.
We captured this sweet boy last night and David was able to take both cats to our vet this morning. Turns out this one was already fixed... we didn't notice his clipped ear... the other kitten turned out to be a boy and will get fixed and vaccinated tomorrow!!
I hope I can get them adopted, I hate to see them on the street.... but they can always eat at my house!

Trap Lake as viewed just below Trap Pass along the Pacific Crest Trail, Washington State. Smoke from a wildfire can be seen in the distance.
This White Pine tree was cut down last week in our yard. Zoom in to see that the sap has apparently enticed and entrapped quite a few insects in it's oozing grip. Note to self: there are still a fair amount of insects still active outdoors in New England even in the chilly December temps. (Check for ticks! )
