“Every snowflake is unique, yet they are each perfect.”
― Donald L. Hicks, Look into the stillness
I'm bummed about lots of issues with this image but love how crystal clear the snowflake is.
On the way back to the San Francisco Bay Area from Nevada we planned to have dinner at the iconic Harris Ranch in California's Central Valley. Before dinner we made a small detour to visit a ranch in Coalinga. We arrived just as the sun went down. Cattle running around created a lot of dust.
I processed a balanced and a photographic HDR photo from a RAW exposure, blended them, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

Dried flowers, for the "Smile on Saturday" theme; "Get nature in your home".
The heads of these tiny flowers are so small that they are immeasurable. HSoS!
These tiny dried flower heads are trapped inside of a large canning jar, along with a bird on a nest. It's a cute display, but rather hard to get a decent shot of. Since I live in rural Alaska - our days are dark, and temperatures have been running between twenty and thirty below zero for almost a month. Not exactly the weather for growing house plants - or even keeping them alive.
Trapped leaves under frozen ice in one of the Forest ponds. The ice texture gave quite a painterly effect I thought which is what attracted me. There were lots of little scenes of plant-life frozen under and in the ice all round the edge of this particular pond. Normally, you'd just walk on by but the ice gave a different texture and abstract feel. A long lens was a bonus to reach into the pond and at this focal length some focus stacking was needed to get everything sharp.

Inside "Captured Nebula" by Gamma Infinity
Currently shown at Art Unbound: Space Walk Pop-Up Exhibition for a limited time...so get captured! Opening is set Saturday March 13th @ 12pm SLT.
The sculpture depicts a nebula captured in time, frozen in a moment of its eternal dance of gravity and energy. The colors range from green, pink, orange, yellow reflecting the interplay of gases and dust particles that make up the nebula. The sculpture is designed to be viewed from different angles, and the interplay of light and shadow adds a sense of depth and movement to the piece.
The Captured Nebula sculpture is a testament to the beauty and wonder of the universe we live in, and a reminder of the infinite possibilities that exist beyond our world. It is a unique and captivating work of art that will inspire and delight anyone who loves astronomy, space exploration, or simply appreciates the beauty of the cosmos. - Gamma Infinity

sunshinenshadows. The light was hitting the old corroguated iron sheets, which were behind very old iron railings... i just liked it all, the shapes, the colours, the light....
For Macro Mondays this week I thought an image representing the struggle of the Ukrainian people would be acceptable.
Poor smiley although still smiling is trapped and hurt engulfed in an iron curtain.
Poor Ukrainians!
Bombed, battered, but still fighting for their survival surrounded by large tanks and soldiers from Russian aggressors .... 🔥🆘📢🔫💣😢
"Oh! for heaven's sake go home and leave the innocent children and people of Ukraine alone!!!!!!"
Love & Peace everyone!

I have used a little bouncing smiley super-ball toy to create this image!
I used some blue round stickers adding this colour scheme to enhance the Ukrainian flag colours contrasting with yellow.
I sawed a piece from smiley, from his head, then used a piece of metal wire mesh around him ensuring a point of the mesh entered through his head area.
I then placed him inside a blue bucket of the correct colour and took some macro images.
The yellow smiley super-ball is small only one inch in diameter so therefore falls within the three inch maximum size requirements for Macro Mondays!
Eastern Box Turtle (Terrapene Carolina Carolina). Found this little girl in the pool trap. I took her out to the woods by stream where she didn’t have to be in chlorine.
This flower and praying mantis are just outside my office window. I have a front row seat to watch as this mantis snatches skipper butterflies all day long. You can see how much damage it has caused to the flower. It is a hunting, eating machine.
