Pelecanus is a genus of seabirds commonly called pelicans, and belonging to the Pelecanidae family.
Pelicans are famous for their huge beaks, but they have another distinctive feature: unlike other waterfowl, they have all four webbed toes, just like cormorants and gannets. They eat fish, and most live in the sea. The pelican is the only animal that swallows salt water and turns it into fresh water in its throat for consumption.

Diariamente distintas mariposas se disputan las flores para libar. Los continuos aleteos y cambios de vara no ponen fácil la tarea de captarlas adecuadamente, pero alguna que otra se consigue y cuando eso sucede lo azaroso se transforma en satisfactorio por la complacencia de la aventura compartida en su ambiente natural. Entre las muchas visitas también estaba la siempre admirada macaon, y en uno de sus vuelos le arrebaté este plano.

Una historia sostiene que en el medievo dos mancebos de familias rivales estaban siempre combatiendo, uno con espada en mano, y el otro con una maza con pinchos en una lid que no tenía fin. Aslid el brujo de la armonía y el amor, harto de sus continuas peleas y disputas los transformó en aguja e hilo para que eternamente estuvieran unidos y castigados a elaborar cosas de utilidad.

Nowadays, the power of social networks and the Internet makes viral certain places that previously would go unnoticed by most people. That is the case of these apartment blocks located in the Quarry Bay neighborhood in Hong Kong, which became famous after appearing in the movie Transformers (which I have not watch), and that are daily visited by many curious people who want to get a selfie or a photo of the place. It is important in these cases to be respectful, because although we are in a public place, this is the home of many people and it is not surprising that one day it will be forbidden to photograph here.
In my case I expected to get the image easily, but when I arrived and pointed my camera up from the center of the yard, I saw a balcony with scaffolding that I could not tolerate. I had to move to one side, and then some plants entered in the 12mm of my ultra wide-angle lens. So I ended up placing myself near the apartments, with the consequent problem that the lines were distorted in a horrible way. When I finally managed to compose as correctly as possible, it started to rain and I stayed alone there holding my umbrella to protect the camera. The truth is that at times it was hard to stand there, because to my uncomfortable situation it was added the unpleasant smell of the wet garbage that was in the yard. Luckily, moments before the blue hour it stopped raining and despite all the difficulties I was able to get my version of this photograph that has always impressed me.

Últimamente, el poder de las redes sociales y de internet hace virales ciertos lugares que antes pasarían inadvertidos por la mayoría. Ese el caso de estos bloques de apartamentos situados en el barrio de Quarry Bay en Hong Kong, que se hicieron famosos tras aparecer en la película Transformers (la cual no he visto), y que reciben a diario a muchos curiosos que quieren conseguir un selfie o una foto del lugar. Es importante en estos casos ser respetuosos, ya que aunque nos encontremos en un lugar público, este es el hogar de mucha gente y no es de extrañar que algún día se acabe prohibiendo fotografiar aquí.
En mi caso esperaba conseguir la imagen fácilmente, pero al llegar y apuntar con mi cámara hacia arriba desde el centro del patio, vi un balcón con andamios que no podía tolerar. Tuve por ello que desplazarme hacia un lado, y entonces unas plantas entraban en los 12mm de mi lente ultra gran angular. Así que terminé por colocarme cerca de los apartamentos, con el consiguiente problema de que las líneas se distorsionaban de forma horrible. Cuando por fin conseguí componer lo más correctamente posible, empezó a llover y me quedé solo aguantando el chaparrón con mi paraguas protegiendo la cámara. La verdad es que por momentos fue duro aguantar allí, porque a mi incómoda situación se sumó el olor desagradable de la basura mojada que había en el patio. Por suerte, instantes antes de la hora azul dejó de llover y a pesar de todas las dificultades pude conseguir mi versión de esta fotografía que tanto me ha impresionado siempre.

Cette dernière photo présente moins d'intérêt du fait que l'aigrette nous tourne le dos. Mais je la poste car à ma grande surprise (je ne l'avais pas remarqué de prime abord) à ce même instant un poisson a surgi de l'eau pour franchir la retenue faite de gros blocs de pierre.

Una especie muy esquiva y que se resiste ante la cámara. Nada más ve el objetivo se zambulle y desaparece para emerger a decenas de metros de ti. Cuando llega el periodo reproductivo su plumaje se transforma para ser mucho más vistoso.
Una espècie molt esquiva i que es resisteix davant la cambra. Res més veu l'objectiu es capbussa i desapareix per a emergir a desenes de metres de tu. Quan arriba el període reproductiu el seu plomatge es transforma per a ser molt més vistós.

Estas árvores, que aqui na Guiné-Bissau são simplesmente chamadas “Poilão“, o que nada mais significa do que “Grande árvore da Guiné-Bissau“, chamam-se também, na linguagem popular, “pé-de-cabaceira“. Estas árvores, na Guiné-Bissau denominadas “poilão“ ou “pé-de-cabaceira“, constituem uma espécie geralmente conhecida como “imbondeiro“ ou “baobá“. Suas frutas recebem aqui na Guiné-Bissau o nome de “cabaceira“, e acrescentando-se-lhes água e abundante quantidade de ácucar pode-se transformá-las num sumo, que no país é vendido praticamente em cada esquina. Este sumo é muito gostoso !

Diese großen Bäume, die hier in Guinea-Bissau oft einfach „Poilão“ genannt werden, was nichts weiter bedeutet als „Großer Baum Guinea-Bissaus“, heißen im Volksmund auch „Pé-de-Cabaceira“. Diese in Guiné-Bissau als „Poilão“ oder „Pé-de-Cabaceira“ bezeichneten Bäume sind eine Gattung der allgemein als „Afrikanischer Affenbrot“ oder „Baobab“ bekannten Pflanze. Ihre Früchte werden hier in Guinea-Bissau als „Cabaceira“ bezeichnet und werden unter Zugabe von Wasser und reichlich Zucker zu Cabaceirasaft verarbeitet, den es im ganzen Land an fast jeder Straßenecke zu kaufen gibt. Dieser Saft ist superlecker !

Em Castelo Melhor, Vila Nova de Foz Côa, a floração das amendoeiras entre fevereiro e março assinala a chegada da primavera no Douro Superior. Este fenómeno transforma a paisagem com tons de branco e rosa, atraindo visitantes para percursos pedestres e viagens de comboio, numa celebração da Rota das Amendoeiras em Flor. Reconhecida como a "Capital da Amendoeira em Flor", Vila Nova de Foz Côa associa este espetáculo natural à sua importância económica na produção de amêndoa. A região integra ainda o Parque Arqueológico do Vale do Côa, Património Mundial da UNESCO, onde se destacam as gravuras rupestres paleolíticas, enriquecendo o património cultural e natural da zona transfronteiriça entre os rios Côa e Douro.

A Calle de la Estafeta, no coração histórico de Pamplona, é um emblemático cenário das festas de San Fermín, onde, todos os anos em julho, se realizam as famosas corridas de touros, conhecidas como "encierro". Esta tradição, com raízes no século XIV e eternizada por Ernest Hemingway, transforma a rua num vibrante corredor de adrenalina. Fora do período festivo, a Estafeta mantém-se viva, como uma via pedonal repleta de lojas, bares de pintxos e restaurantes, frequentados tanto por locais como por turistas. A arquitetura tradicional, com varandas de ferro forjado, e o pavimento em pedra refletem a rica história da rua, que foi um importante ponto de correios no século XVIII, perpetuando o nome "Estafeta". Além disso, a rua é uma paragem significativa no Caminho de Santiago, acolhendo peregrinos que a atravessam, vindo pela Puente de la Magdalena, e se misturam com o ambiente festivo que a caracteriza durante o verão. Calle de la Estafeta, in the historic heart of Pamplona, is an emblematic setting for the San Fermín festivities, where, every year in July, the famous bullfights, known as "encierro", are held. This tradition, with roots in the 14th century and eternalized by Ernest Hemingway, turns the street into a vibrant adrenaline corridor. Outside the festive period, Estafeta remains alive, as a pedestrian street full of shops, pintxos bars and restaurants, frequented by locals and tourists alike.
