Our day at Coral Bay brought terrific fun, great snorkeling, paddle boarding, and as the tide went out, a great view of sand and the quickly changing depths of water, creating some beautiful colors.
walking around my mom's yard over the weekend brought back memories. when my mom was alive, she loved to garden...always going to the local nursery to pick up the flower in season...there was always blooms and blossoms to be found. over the years her children gave her wind chimes that are still scattered around her yard. as i walked the yard i could remember each occasion the new wind chime was given and said a special blessing for her.
note for DoF group: this ornament was hanging in the cherry tree. i zoomed all the way in with the 55-200mm lens (200mm). the cherries were about ten inches behind the ornament and shoot as wide open as i could with this lens (f/3.3).

This is an alternative take on the horses in the mist and as it turns out a much more popular one. :)

The comforting sounds of tranquility, within the wind of chaos~
So peaceful and tranquil are the mornings before the world is awake.
thank you Tanya(scrapbuddy2) for the texture
The tranquility of this scene can be a bit deceiving. Tucked back into the vegetation, resting waterfowl come alive in a quick heart beat with the threat of a predator from above. I always find the tones of winter to be a particular lure against a clouded blue sky when I'm visiting Rancho Esquon wildlife habitat. The wildlife is always an added bonus but sometimes, just these peaceful moments of beauty are most satisfying.

The still and tranquil waters of a tidepool winding back to sea as pastel sun sets over the rocks and seastacks near Cannon Beach, Oregon
High tide at West Kirby. Actually I use the term 'tranquility' rather loosely as there were about 40 school kids screaming behind me at the time, a gang of workers drilling the pavement and my Mm & Dad shouting loudly at me over the din....but hey you wouldn't realise that would you? :))

The Trent and Mersey canal was quiet today. The water was a bit more disturbed than I was expecting but it's good enough for a reflection snapshot or two.
The local Heron flew off when it saw me. I thought it was getting a bit less skittish but apparently not.
