It is rare for us to get a great snowfall here in this part of the South. We tend to have more ice-storms than snow storms. This is the exception to the rule as we received several inches of beautiful snow from a storm that passed overhead on 12/18/09.
I was taken by this single pair of tracks and could just imagine a family, tired of driving through the snow, rejuvenated by the prospect of being almost home. They wind decisively along an unmarked driveway, marks made by someone who has driven this way many times over the years. Ok, I can stop waxing philosophical now....

Trying to take some pictures of tracks in the snow. Some of them turned out okay. There's one or two from where a bird landed in the snow, with prints from the wings and tail. Look carefully!
I believe this is the lever that switches the track for a train to lead down.
Cropped square from an asp-c frame.
Flashed neutral to bring out the colours of the trains against the full moon & clouds.

I was near the start finish line, and the fire was right before turn 3...using 300 mm and a crop you can see a bit of what was going on. I took 35 photos...just picked a couple.
