I was actually free on a day the track laying train was working on the East West Railway. Regrettably by the time I arrived the train was approaching the new footbridge to the west of the site of the former Swanbourne Station. I could not any closer than about 50m to the site. Things did not appear to be going well and there were frequent pauses while a crowbar was applied to the rail to get it to sit correctly on the sleepers.

At Cape Van Diemen, the northern-most point of Melville Island, Nortnern Territory. The left track charts the turtle's progress up the sand where it has attempted the first nest site, then across to the second nest site before returning to the sea and creating the right track.

Up gain early this morning to try and capture the sunrise with the seattle Skyline but alas I don't think it is the right time of the year. I think I'll try the sunset instead and perhaps wait until the sun rises behind the skyline instead of further South.
On the way home I was headed south and stumbled upon these tracks. My early morning wasn't for nothing :)
Fantastic weather and a nice lazy day with nothing in particular to do. Went out for a nice drive to get some photos and just went where the roads took me. Found a nice little spot by some train tracks as the sun was going down.
