Today I went to Charnock Richard (just south of Coppull) to see the TThO 4S35/1407 Seaforth CT to Mossend Down Yard intermodal, which annoyingly was again just empty container flats after the initial working was fully loaded. DB's 66175 was on the front again, seen running alongside the access track which runs to Balshaw Lane Jn on 17/05/18.

Work continued through Saturday night and, as seen here on Sunday morning, is progressing in the area at and south of Tower 12 (Wabash/Van Buren junction). Ties and tracks are being laid where just 24 hours before the 'L' structure was bare. After a weekend of continuous work to renew track, trains from the South Side will resume service over these tracks, bringing thousands of people to and from downtown Monday.

The tracks disappear into the brush. I remember when you could see all the way to Thelwall from here, shortly before being deafened by neeeeeeeee nooooooorrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!. Twice I came within a few milli seconds of being hit by a freight train and diving off the tracks with my heart pounding out of my chest.
