Thanks and recognition goes to Kerstin Frank for the free texture Blue Bird used as a texture overlay.
Dans l'éclat de la neige, se dessine ces petites fermettes qui semblent endormies de bon matin.

In the glare of the snow, drawing these small farmhouses that seem asleep early in the morning
Every year we get an ornament for the season, trying to come up with an ornament that describes something we did in the year or someplace we went in the year. One year we got an Eiffel Tower for going to Vegas, another it was an Angel for all the crazy things that we somehow managed through. This year we wanted to get a skull with “2016” on it but decided on this cute little deer instead… I will be glad when this year is done and over with.

This ripe bunch of grapes was already looking good... but I'm delving into the world of textures at the moment so I followed the really helpful tutorial by Skeletal Mess here: www.flickr.com/photos/skeletalmess/4460319787/
With huge thanks and max credit for the input!
Your input... Comments, Faves, Notes always appreciated!
Textures thanks to Kerstin Frank and French Kiss.
I remember making dolls with these flowers when I was young. The blossoms made beautiful ball gowns.

Christmas at my parent’s house… this was a really off Christmas because I’m in a new state, living in a rental while my house is being built, essentially living out of boxes. It wasn’t a bad Christmas by any means, it was just weird- different. I am looking forward to 2019 and all the change it will bring.
Merry Christmas to one and all!

Here's hoping that everyone had a peaceful, beautiful Christmas and holiday season. It was a great first Christmas in the new house, and it was great to spend some quality time with my parents. Bittersweet with everything going on, but still as 20198 ends, I believe that 2020 will see better days.

The old rose bush has been here as long as we have lived here and probably for many years before. I would imagine it is at least 75 years old. It has survived deer, rabbits, Japanese beetles and our misguided attempts to prune it.
It is filled with gorgeous deep pink, extremely fragrant roses from late May till the hardest of frosts finally takes away the last bloom of the year.
This female house finch sat still for a brief moment just long enough for me to push the shutter button.

Snapped at the garden center. I like the poinsettias that look like someone sprinkled bleach on them. I also like the half red/ half pink leaves.
Sunlight and warm breezes dancing amongst choisya flowers. Scent in the air. Summer is here :)

The snow having been cleared off the car after our big snowstorm, it was free to collect frost overnight. And to my delight, tiny snowflakes had also fallen here and there. Here, the snow and the frost were different colors in the morning light, the difference visible even to the naked eye. Each little scene was different, and the sun was changing--and melting--them quickly, so I had to choose the best scenes and capture them while I still could.
The largest snowflake here is about half a centimeter across.

Wheat, barley, and oats are big crops in Minnesota. The number one crop is corn, now that it's used for making ethanol. First place winner, Tis the Season group, contest Fields and Meadows, August 2013.
