This shot was taken in a public rose garden. I wanted to include colourful bokeh in the background because the rose bush was just one of many.

Finding peace in nature's beauty.....(Image repost with new words)

COEXIST…

This is a popular statement these days. I have a message painted over my bedroom door that I read every day before I leave my room and head out into the world. It simply says…”DO NO HARM”. I try so hard to live this in my daily life. I know that many times I fail. Many times I do so much better at practicing this when it comes to nature. It is so easy with nature…leave it alone…leave it as you found it…appreciate it.

Does it make me less of a good human being, less kind and compassionate, that I have to work so much harder with people to coexist? I work daily not to become cynical towards human beings, and so many of them make it so difficult to practice and live my chosen mantra. I hear mean things said to others…see road rage…rudeness towards people that have done nothing wrong…cruel things said to people that are elderly, mentally ill, or handicapped. Things that are just not necessary…that only serves to hurt. Sometimes this is directed towards me…a healthy person, with a sound mind…albeit sensitive emotions.

Today I find myself wondering if those of us who try to COEXIST make much difference in the world…

My cynicism grows…Still I fight it. Why is it so hard?

Step into Christmas - Elton John

For Me Again Again Monday and this week's 'tis the season to play Christmas music theme.

I have a whole list of favourites but this one seems like a fun one step out of my accidental (and then it grew) Flickr hiatus with.

It flies by at a crazy pace, makes you pull silly faces, doesn't always makes sense, and seems to celebrate the idea that you can let go of the fact that too much time has passed and just jump in and celebrate from now.

I carry my own mix bag of what the season means, but the sparkle, fun and 'being together'-ness of December holds an undeniable temptation. Sounds like as much reason as I need to try and jump back into the game. So...I'm back.
