I liked the light and colour in the original version but thought it would work well with a texture so this is my second textured image.

Again, taken on our camping trip to the mtns. Twenty mins from the campsite is a store catering to those who need gas and any other impt items that one may have forgetten to throw in the trailer prior leaving home..................like Toilet Paper for instance! Anyhow.........we drove to the store each afternoon to pick up the daily news and have out daily treat, an ice cream. So close your eyes and imagine sitting at the table enjoying the warm air, the smell of autumn, the peace and quite and oh yeah, and one other thing, the ice cream. Thank you for visiting my photo site.

These roses were so pretty and delicate my aim was to create a final image that would illustrate how I percieved them. I've wanted to use the Orton Effect for some time and this is my first attempt. I kept the Orton Effect to a minimum though because I did not want to lose too much detail.

Come in. sit down...have a glass and relax...feel the coolness of the evening after the heat of the day..

If You Forget Me

I want you to know

one thing.

You know how this is:

if I look

at the crystal moon, at the red branch

of the slow autumn at my window,

if I touch

near the fire

the impalpable ash

or the wrinkled body of the log,

everything carries me to you,

as if everything that exists,

aromas, light, metals,

were little boats

that sail

toward those isles of yours that wait for me.

Well, now,

if little by little you stop loving me

I shall stop loving you little by little.

If suddenly

you forget me

do not look for me,

for I shall already have forgotten you.

If you think it long and mad,

the wind of banners

that passes through my life,

and you decide

to leave me at the shore

of the heart where I have roots,

remember

that on that day,

at that hour,

I shall lift my arms

and my roots will set off

to seek another land.

But

if each day,

each hour,

you feel that you are destined for me

with implacable sweetness,

if each day a flower

climbs up to your lips to seek me,

ah my love, ah my own,

in me all that fire is repeated,

in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,

my love feeds on your love, beloved,

and as long as you live it will be in your arms

without leaving mine.

My wife has a thing for snowmen Christmas decorations. Her late mother would decorate one room with mostly snowmen to bring her daughter joy whenever she would visit during the holidays.

What is a person suppose to do when a blizzard is raging outside? Bake cookies! City is inspecting the Mexican tea cakes before they are slightly flatten and placed in the oven. This day he said he pass up the lick taste just for our daughter. Suzie and I both had stomach aches yesterday from the large number of cookies we consumed right out of the oven. I solved the problem by putting all the fresh baked pecan sandies, Mexican tea cakes, and peanut butter blossoms into holiday canasters and placing them on the front porch. They are less tempting if they are frozen solid.

I recently came home after visiting Trondheim. I love beeing there :) Trondheim is Norway's 3rd largest city with 170,000 inhabitants, and in addition to that about 25.000 students lives there.

The city was allegedly founded by Olav Tryggvason in 997. As Trondheim is an old city, many of the buildings in the city are built of wood. The city has been devastated by several fires, but still has many of the old wooden buildings, which makes the city so charming.

Trondheim is often called Norway's Technology Capital. NTNU (Norwegian University of Science) has a national responsibility for education and research in technology. The climate in Trondheim is very varying because the city lies between the cold polar air to the north and the warmer air currents in the south. Mainly the climate is mild and humid, and it often happens that one's in the sunlight while it is raining at the same time. The winter is mild.

Midnight sunset in Reykjavík, Icleland.

I love this old church in Yosemite valley. A fresh snow pack made for a great shot.

More on my blog

Spring is here bringing with it allergies but also beautiful roses.

A storm was comming from the North East and the Sun was shining from the West. I thought they were really nice.

This season and this year ended in full circle from where I was a year ago. They say life always moves on, and with that I can say that I have managed to find such immense joy in my heart for some months now, moving on with my life.

As the season brings joy and hope, that is exactly what I have found in my heart, and in the memories I have been creating here lately. I could not ask for a better way to end 2023 than with love and joy in my heart.
