I live close to a small river and often walk along the towpath. Regardless of the weather, almost always I find great subjects to photograph.
This was taken along one of my favourite stretches early one November morning about five years ago.
I came across it a few days ago when I was looking for some pictures taken locally to hang in the newly decorated bedroom (yes folks, it's finally finished!!!). I played around with it and added a texture and think the result is quite pleasing.
But now I can't make up my mind if I prefer the textured one or the untextured version shown below.
So you decide for me! (Though I must add that, as always, the Artistic Director will be the final judge!!!)
The garden is full of purple lavender coming into bloom. And the small wild bees are loving it! So I didn't want to take too much.
But together with the white potentilla growing beside it, the colours, the sounds and the fragrance of summer is here!
And the temari ball just seems to echo the summer feel too 😊
Shot with the Canon 70D and a Helios 44-2 lens, giving a smooth and silky bokeh background.
HBW! 😊

I just went to a series of older shots and found some that could serve well for merging a panorama from a beautiful evening with crazy light at Rifugio Casati. This was made from 3 single hand held shots taken with the Leica M9 and the 2/50 Zeiss Planar.
I recently visited this place and took a photo with the path and Estergebirge behind when only the first few green leaves could be seen and the trees behind were rather naked. Now I came along 3 weeks later as the fresh green had broken out completely at Murnauer Moos and the entrance to that little path was graced by the green branches.
I decided to go for the 24 mm lens to get the foreground more dominating which led to smaller appearance of the mountains of Estergebirge inevitably.
Let us not forget the light in the world that came this time of year...
