This panorama was merged from 2 hand held shots taken with the Nikon Z7 with the Leica Apo-Summicron 2/50 via the Novoflex adapter. High fog was still hanging at the mountains before the sun was powerful enough to clear it up.
These amazing trees, full of pink delicate flowers, grow at the Brueckner Rhododendron Garden. The garden sits on the shores of Lake Ontario, where the acidic soil and lake effects combine to make conditions ideal for woodland and mountain plants. A commentator below thinks this is a magnolia tree. i know in Canada we have magnolia bushes, but I don't know if we have such tall magnolia trees.

Listening to the crunch of the snow under your feet, following with your eyes the tracks of people, their dogs or the smaller paw prints of some cats or rabbits, feeling the cold of your cheeks, seeing the steam from your breath disappear... That and more is winter.

Maybe this picture can explain because I'd hate to miss my franconian homeland at every season without visiting it, especially in autumn...

“A large drop of sun lingered on the horizon and then dripped over and was gone, and the sky was brilliant over the spot where it had gone, and a torn cloud, like a bloody rag, hung over the spot of its going.... "

I decided to grow some black (as described on the packet!) sunflowers to add to the garden this year & chose 2 different varieties. I sowed 6 seeds of each variety & they all germinated nicely & I planted them in the garden only to have them completely taken out by the slugs (greedy pigs)! So I repeated the excercise & ended up with 12 more sunflowers which I duly planted out. This is the sole survivor (slugs again) which is just about to bloom. I'll post another shot when it's blossomed fully, that's if I can get to it before the slugs do lol!
