Niet alleen ik, want foto's maken met een compactcamera vergt toch nadenken vanwege de vetraagde sluiter.
Maar ook de treintjes moeten een beetje meewerken.
Dit idee had ik al eens eerder. Toen niet naar het zin. Nu ook nog niet helemaal.
Replacing my long overdue timing belt on the Subaru (130K miles). I pulled a bunch of extra stuff off while I was in there so I could see where everything was on the motor in case I ever needed to work on it again. While I was there I also replaced the water pump and belt tensioner. All parts removed were in good shape. I noticed that one of my sway bar links had broken, so I replaced that too. I guess it all ran around $400 in parts and took 3 days of about 3-4 hours per day to do it all. Oh, also replaced my plugs which were original to the car. The hardest part was getting my harmonic dampener off. I almost gave up, that is why it took 3 days. I have no idea what a mechanic would have charged.
This is a photograph from the 4th Annual Multyfarnham (Multy) 5KM which was held in the village of Multyfarnham about 15KM west of Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 3rd June 2015 at 20:00. An incredible and unprecedented crowd of almost 300 participants took to the route including runners, joggers and walkers which was on an out-and-back course on beautiful country roads. The weather was perfect for racing and running. The fast course combined with the good weather conditions provided personal and seasonal bests for many of the participants. The GAA Club and Community Centre provided car-parking and the race headquarters. Overall this was a very well organised race event which on the evidence of tonight's race can grow even further in future years. As this and other photographs in this set shows there is nothing like an evening race in summer time in rural Ireland.

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. I see hardly any pictures on Flickr taken from the far/left side of Chittenango Falls. I think it might be because in the summer or late spring leaves witll obscure most of the falls from there. When all the leaves are off the trees over there I think it would look unattractively bleak. But now, with just those nice-looking Beech trees showing their leaves, I liked the way it looked from over there.
Unfortunately some of the leaves are blurred by the strong winds that blew the whole time.
This is a photograph from the annual Ardagh Moydow Glen Community Games 5KM and 10 Mile road races, fun runs, walks and challenges which were held in the heritage village of Ardagh, Co. Longford, Ireland on Saturday 30th December 2017 at 13:00. This year's race featured the change from last year's race where the race seen the introduction of chip timing, a new start and finish in the middle of the village at the community center and, a slightly amended route.

The 10 mile race takes in the local 'Ardagh Mountain' which is a 1 mile continuous climb starting at the 2.5 mile mark of the 10 mile race. There is, of course, then the reward of a long down-hill stretch after the summit. The remainder of the race is The 5KM race takes a loop around the heritage village of Ardagh. Overall this is a very well organised race with accurate courses, good marshalling and traffic control and excellent after race refreshments. The 10 mile race is one of the longest road races held during the Christmas period anywhere in Ireland and has appeal to runners who want to add a longer distance race to their festive calendar of running.
The weather at this year's race was very cold and windy. The rain managed to stay away but a very cold northerly breeze certainly made conditions cold. Whatever wind advantage there was for the runners was not experienced until the second half of the race. In 2014 there was very frosty icy weather and last year in 2015 participants were given a very very windy day with heavy rain at the finish of both races. The 2016 event seen very suitable weather for road racing.
Ardagh is probably County Longford's most picturesque village with many historical and architecturally important features. It is located about 6 miles from Longford town.

This is a photograph from the finish of the 7th annual Kinnegad 5KM Road Race and Fun Run 2016 which was held in the town of Kinnegad, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 13th July 2016 at 20:00. This race has firmly established itself on the local race calendar and yet again the race got wonderful support from local clubs and runners. The race was first run in 2010 and has used the same route for each o the seven runnings of the race. The race is flat and fast and takes runners on traffic free route which includes 3KM on the local road 'Boreen Bradach'. The boreen is a flat and sheltered by hedgerow is a well used local walking and running route. The boreen emerges onto the main street with the finish is on this famous main street of Kinnegad in front of Harry's Hotel. This streetscape will be well known to many many people who travelled between the east and west of Ireland before the arrival of the motorway system which we have today. Over 230 people took part and the results by Premier Timing Systems are available here [www.premiertimingsystems.ie/]. A very heavy shower of rain before the race cleared off and the race was ran in calm mild conditions. Overall the race was very well organised and there was Garda help with traffic control in the town for the start and finish of the race.
The location of the START (goo.gl/maps/JWpnK) and FINISH (goo.gl/maps/es2Up) of the race are shown on Google Maps. Prize giving, refreshments, parking and registration is at Kinnegad GAA club just off the old Mullingar Road about 500m from the start (goo.gl/Ia9cIR)

I was assigned to shoot a high school golf tournament for West Hawaii Today this morning. Shooting a golf tournament is about as exciting as watching my toenail polish dry.
While sitting in my little cart, I decided to test my timing by trying to capture a golf ball being struck off a tee.
This was the first of four attempts. I missed capturing the ball in the other three.
If you look closely you can see the bending of the tee.
This is a photograph from both of the races in the 8th annual Longwood Village 10KM and 5KM Road Races and Fun Runs which were held in Longwood Village, Longwood, Co. Meath, Ireland on Sunday 22nd October 2017 at 11:00. The races are held annually to support the development of the local GAA club while also supporting local charities. The race has support from Trim AC which sees the race have full AAI premit status. These races have grown steadily over the years and this year almost 400 participants to part in the two races. This is an impressive statistic given that a very large number of local runners will be preparing for the Dublin City marathon 7 days from now. However both races provide marathon runners and all other runners, joggers and walkers with an ideal opportunity to race on a very fair course in a beautiful rural setting. Barry Clarke of Longwood GAA and Trim AC and his very large group of volunteers deserve the highest of praise for the very high standard of organisation immediately apparent to anyone taking part in the race. Overall the whole day was a great success with the hard work put in by the organising committee ensuring that participants enjoyed their race experience. Both routes were accurately measured, kilometer points clearly marked, junctions well stewarded, and electronic timing provided. The event provided many local runners, joggers, fun runners and walkers with a local event to support whilst at the same time providing runners preparing for events such as the Dublin marathon with an opportunity to race a short, fast, distance in the lead up to marathon day. The GAA club provided excellent stewarding and traffic management all around the course. The race had a professional feel to it and it is sure to grow next year given the very positive feedback from many of the participants today. The weather in the week leading up to the race was hardly ideal with both Storm Ophelia and Storm Brian bringing windy and rainy conditions to Ireland all week. The weather for race day was more suitable for running. Dry, with a fresh breeze, the weather remained dry for both races with the sun making an appearance also.

Longwood is a small village in South East Co. Meath and is close to the town of Enfield with access to the M4 Motorway.
5KM Course: The 5KM started in Longwood village. Runners then took a left turn in the Village down St. Oliver's Road. This straight section of road brings runners to a left turn onto a very well maintained boreen road for less than one kilometer. The race then emerges and joins with the 10KM at Stoneyford where the runners take a left and then another left before arriving back at the finish line in Longwood GAA club. Overall this is a very fast and flat 5KM with no hills to speak of.
10KM Course: The 10KM event begins in Longwood Village outside Dargan's Pub and proceeds westward out of the village. There are some interesting points along this part of the course. At the 2KM point the runners will run under the double bridges - an aquaduct for the Royal Canal and a bridge carrying the Dublin Sligo Railway line. The race then enters county Kildare just before the 3km and after taking a right turn at the four-cross roads known locally as Lally's Cross it returns to County Meath on top of the River Boyne Bridge (Ashfield Bridge) which forms the county boundary. The race follows a straight road for the next 2KM until runners encounter Blackshade bridge which is the toughest climb on the route. As a point of interest Blackshade bridge brings runners back over the Royal Canal and the Railway line. The race then crosses the River Boyne again at Stoneyford before taking a right which will bring runners on a testing two kilometer stretch with some short hills. The 10KM course then joins with the 5Km course for the final 1.5KM back to Longwood GAA club for the finish.

I carried my camera with me for two days in Turku and didn't take a single photo. The I decided to take advantage of the beautiful sky, and bang, in swims a swan. Timing is everything. Two bad I only had my wide angle lense with me...
The last sunset of the festival was concording perfectly with the last song of 5 day of festival full power... no better timing. The sun got out of the cloud to say bye bye for a last time!... then AFTER PARTY!
When I logged on to Amazon to check the price of an item, this banner ad was at the top of the page. It's for a dystopian sci-fi series. However, the imagery is chilling in light of the recent bigotry in the public sphere.
This is a photograph from the finish of the St. Coca's AC 5KM Road Race 2015 which was held in Kilcock, Co. Kildare, Ireland at 20:00 on Friday 26th June 2015. This superb road race is now firmly established again as one of the fastest and best organised road races of it's kind in Leinster. The race follows a left handed course around a well known local walking route around Laragh and in the closing kilometer runs parallel to the Royal Canal into the finish at the railway station. The members of St. Coca's AC and the many volunteers from the local community must be given great praise for organising another fantastic night of racing for runners, joggers, and walkers. The 5KM course is very flat with the exception of short incline up a motorway overpass and makes its way along narrow country lanes sheltered on either side by hedgerows. The beautiful summer's evening made for an enjoyable night for everyone with a large crowd gathering at the finish to cheer on participants. The race also attracted one of it's largest number of participants in recent years with over 380 finishers in the race. Refreshments and prize awards were held in the primary school near the race start and close to the St. Coca's running track. This race is yet another fantastic club organised road race in the midlands/North Leinster region where an athletics club organises their annual event to the highest standard. Without doubt the St. Coca's AC 5KM Road Race will continue to grow.

I saw this bike moving up pretty fast in the inside lane so I tried to anticipate him and got this. My little pocket camera is notoriously slow on the release so you need about twenty minutes lead time. Oh well. On a positive note, I didn't have any pictures of May Trucking Co. 18-wheelers.

Concept Time Drifts May 2014
At the end of the Year of Germany in Brazil 2013/2014, the artist Philipp Geist (Berlin, 1976)
develops two light installations in Rio this year; the first one on the world-famous Christ statue
(Cristo Redentor) and the other installation in the Santa Marta favela. For the installation the
artist presents artistic-liberal and poetic German and Brazilian themes and develops a building
and floor light installation of colored words and phrases in Portuguese, German, and in other
international languages. The installation deals with cultural characteristics and achievements of
both countries and visualizes the issues of time and space, volatility and presence in a free
artistic style. The two projects are in fact a double project which is combined. The installation
on the symbol of Rio and Brazil, the Christ statue, is recorded and projected onto the small
buildings and huts of the favela. The Christ statue, which has been built to protect the city and
the sailors, is symbolically projected on the shantytown, the favela, in a protective way. The
installation in the favela will be seen not only on a facade as a large cinema projection or as a
static image, but on several winding buildings, the roofs, the floor and on the steps. Thus, the
visitor becomes a part of the installation and can immerse into the projection and the light and
introduce himself. Chalk crayons are put out on the streets in the favela and the young and old
residents and visitors can write and paint words on the street, the ground, the stairs or even on
the house walls. The residents and several institutions should be addressed to submit words and
associations dealing with Rio, Brazil and Germany.
For the installation, which was shown at the Luminale in 2012, the artist Philipp Geist won the
German Lighting Design Award 2013 (Deutscher Lichtdesign-Preis 2013) in the category Light Art.
The series 'Time Drifts' is characterized by the complex and subtle way of visualizing various
currents and voices in cultural contexts and to provide institutions and visitors with the
opportunity of substantive participation: different personalities, visitors and institutions may be
addressed in advance and then contribute words and associations. Current and historico-cultural
topics are researched in advance by the artist and then integrated in a sensitive and subtle way.
The projection dismisses the use of screens, because concepts and associations are projected on
a large area onto the floor surface on several facades and in theater fog. Over the course of two
days, the installation can be seen on-site in the favela on May 15 and 16 and on the Cristo
Redentor on May 12 for a day.
Short, tall, young and old visitors can interactively participate in the installation by tracing and
adding words with colored chalk crayons available on the streets. Thus, over the period of the
installation, a carpet of words is evolved with terms that are contributed locally by the visitors
by means of the temporary and volatile 'medium' of chalk crayons. Philipp Geist develops in this
way a dialogue between the place, the visitors and his artistic work.
The concrete, tangible projection of the architecture and the static terms on the floor area
represents the facts and visible relics that are responsible for our understanding of history. The
transparent and volatile projection in the fog reminds us that part of the history can not be
preserved and that it is created in our individual imagination in a single moment. Words are
briefly visible as a metaphor for transience and then disappear again. This interplay of the
various text and image layers in the space refers to the location and the history/-ies of Brazil
and Germany and the cultural exchange between the two countries. The visitors themselves are
part of the installation: they dive into the large floor projection. In this way, different
perspectives and experiences of space are unified. Abstract passages which are created, then
overlapped and displaced by each other symbolize the constant changes in history, the passage
of time and the transience of existence. Even the understanding of the past is in the flux. The
modern writings and formations created on the computer establish a connection to the present
and the possibilities of today's technology and show that the perception of history and culture
depends always on the possibilities and constraints of the present.
'Time Drifts - Words of Berlin' is part of a series of installations, which has been shown in recent
years by Philipp Geist, and which are always re-developed site-specifically and adapted to the
local conditions: In October 2012, Philipp Geist showed the installation on the entire Potsdamer
Platz (public square) and the Kolhoff Tower and Renzo Piano Tower skyscrapers. In April 2012
the installation was shown at the Luminale in Frankfurt where it was seen by more than 40,000
visitors and thus the main project of the Luminale 2012. In 2011, Philipp Geist presented the
'Time Drifts' installation in Vancouver at the Jack Poole Plaza, as well as in Montreal on the
Place des Arts in 2010. The 'Timing' installation was shown at the 2009 Glow Festival in
Eindhoven. In the end of 2009, on the occasion of the birthday of the King of Thailand, 2-3
million visitors saw his facade installation at the royal throne in Bangkok. Other projects
include: 'Timelines' at the prestigious Pallazzio delle Esposizioni (Rome, 2007), 'Time Fades'
at the Cultural Forum of Berlin and 'Broken Time Lines' at the old spa Kurhaus Ahrenshoop
(Germany, 2008).
Geist's projects are primarily characterized by their complexity concerning the integration of
space, sound and motion images. His video mapping installations waive screens and transform a
wide range of architectures in moving, picturesque light sculptures which challenge the viewer's
perception of two- and three-dimensionality.

Conceito Time Drifts Maio 2014
No final do ano Alemnaha + Brasil 2013/2014, o artista Philipp Geist (1976, Berlim) desenvolverá
duas instalações de luz no Rio; uma delas será exibida na mundialmente famosa estátua do
Cristo Redentor, e a outra na favela Santa Marta. Para a instalação, o artista traz temas teutobrasileiros
de maneira liberal-artística e poética desenvolvendo instalações de luz em edifícios e
no solo a partir de palavras e conceitos coloridos em Português, Alemão e em outros idiomas
internacionais. A instalação lida com as peculiaridades e realizações culturais de ambos os países
e visualiza as questões de tempo e espaço e de volatilidade e presença no estilo liberal-artístico.
Os dois projetos em questão representam um projeto duplo que é combinado. A instalação na
estátua do Cristo Redentor, como um símbolo do Rio e do Brasil, será gravada e projetada nos
pequenos prédios e barracos da favela. A estátua do Cristo Redentor, que foi erguida para
proteger a cidade e os marinheiros, será então projetada como um símbolo de proteção em uma
favela. A instalação na favela é visto não apenas em uma fachada como uma projeção grande de
cinema ou como uma imagem estática, mas em vários prédios sinuosos, em telhados, no solo e
nas escadas. Desta maneira, o visitante conseguirá ser parte da instalação e imergir e mergulhar
na projeção e na luz. Na favela, será distribuído giz para pintura de rua, e os moradores e
visitantes, tanto jovens quanto velhos, podem escrever e pintar conceitos na rua, no solo, nas
escadas ou até mesmo nas paredes das casas. Os moradores e diversas instituições serão
convidados a contribuir com conceitos e associações que representam o Rio, o Brasil e a
Alemanha.
Para as instalações apresentadas na Luminal em 2012, o artista Philipp Geist ganhou o
'Deutscher Lichtdesign-Preis 2013” (Prêmio Alemão de Desenho de Luz de 2013) na categoria
Arte de Luz. A série Time Drifts caracteriza-se pela forma complexa e sutil de visualizar várias
correntes e vozes em contextos culturais e de oferecer a instituições e aos visitantes a
oportunidade de participar: diferentes personalidades, visitantes e instituições podem ser
contatados antecipadamente para contribuir com termos e associações. Temas atuais, históricos
e culturais serão previamente pesquisados pelo artista e, depois, integrados de uma forma
sensível e sutil. A projeção é realizada sem o uso de telas porque conceitos e associações são
projetados, em grande estilo, sobre a superfície do solo, em diversas frentes e envolvidos em
fumaça. Ao longo de dois dias, a instalação estará em exibição em 15 e 16 de maio na favela, e
em 12 de maio, por um dia, no Cristo Redentor.
Visitantes jovens e velhos podem envolver-se na instalação e traçar ou adicionar palavras com
giz colorido, que será distribuído, e assim participar interativamente na instalação. Desta
maneira, durante a duração da instalação, será desenvolvido um tapete de palavras. As palavras
serão fornecidas, no próprio local, pelos visitantes usando o giz, um meio temporário e volátil.
Philipp Geist desenvolve assim um diálogo entre o local, os visitantes e seu trabalho artístico.
A área de projeção concreta e tangível da arquitetura e os termos estáticos sobre a superfície do
solo representam os fatos e as relíquias visíveis que compõem a nossa compreensão da história. A
área de projeção transparente e sumindo por dentro da fumaça lembra que parte da história não
pode ser preservada e que ela é criada na nossa imaginação individual momentaneamente.
Conceitos são brevemente visíveis, como uma metáfora para a transitoriedade e, logo mais,
desaparecem. Esta interação entre as várias camadas de texto e de imagens no espaço refere-se
à localização e a(s) história(s) do Brasil e da Alemanha e o intercâmbio cultural entre os dois
países. Os próprios visitantes tornam-se parte da instalação: eles imergem na grande projeção
do solo. Desta forma, diferentes perspectivas e experiências de espaço são unidas. Passagens
abstratas que são formadas, sobrepostas e suprimidas pela próxima simbolizam as mudanças
contínuas na história, a passagem do tempo e a transitoriedade da existência. A compreensão do
passado também está no fluxo. As fontes e formações modernas criadas no computador

'Time Drifts - Words of Berlin' faz parte de uma série de instalações, que foram apresentadas
durante os últimos anos por Philipp Geist e que são sempre redesenvolvidas para as condições
locais específicas: em outubro de 2012, Philipp Geist exibiu a instalação em toda a praça
Potsdamer Platz (Berlim) e nos dois arranha-céus Kolhoff Tower (Berlim) e Renzo Piano Tower
(Londres). Em abril de 2012, a instalação foi apresentada no evento da Luminal em Frankfurt
onde foi vista por mais de 40.000 visitantes sendo o principal projeto da Luminal de 2012. Em
2011, Philipp Geist mostrou a instalação Time Drifts na praça Jack Poole Plaza em Vancouver
bem como em Montreal, Canadá, no centro de arte Place des Arts, em 2010. A instalação Timing
foi exibida no Glow Festival de 2009 in Eindhoven, Holanda. No final de 2009 e por ocasião do
aniversário do rei tailandês, aprox. 2 a 3 milhões de visitantes viram a instalação de fachada do
artista no trono real em Banguecoque. Seus outros projetos incluem: Time Lines, no prestigiado
museu Palazzio delle Esposizioni (Roma, 2007); Time Fades, no Fórum Cultural de Berlim;
Broken Time Lines, no antigo spa Kurhaus Ahrenshoop (Alemanha, 2008).
Os projetos de Geist são principalmente caracterizados por sua complexidade na integração de
espaço, som e imagens de movimento. Suas instalações de mapeamento de vídeo renunciam
telas e transformam uma ampla gama de arquiteturas em esculturas móveis e pitorescas que
desafiam a percepção do espectador de duas e três dimensões.

Konzept Time Drifts Mai 2014
Zum Abschluss des Deutsch-Brasilianischen-Jahres 2013/2014 entwickelt der Berliner Künstler
Philipp Geist (1976) zwei Lichtinstallation in Rio d.J.; eine an der weltbekannten Christstatue
(Cristo Redender) und in die andere Installation in der Favela Santa Marta. Bei der Installation
greift der Künstler künstlerisch frei und poetisch deutsch brasilianische Themen auf und
entwickelt eine Gebäude- und Boden-Lichtinstallation aus farbigen Wörtern und Begriffen in
portugiesischer, deutscher, und in weiteren internationalen Sprachen. Die Installation thematisiert
kulturelle Besonderheiten und Errungenschaften beider Länder und visualisiert die Themen Zeit
und Raum, Flüchtigkeit und Präsenz in freien künstlerischen Art. Bei den beiden Projekten handelt
es sich um ein Doppelprojekt welches kombiniert wird. Die Installation auf das Wahrzeichen von
Rio und Brasilien die Christstatue, wird aufgenommen und auf die kleinen Gebäude und Hütten
der Favela projiziert. Die Christstatue die errichtet worden ist um die Stadt und Seeleute zu
schützen, wird so symbolisch schützend über ein Armenviertel die Favela projiziert. Dabei ist die
Installation in der Favela nicht nur auf einer Fassade als große Kinoprojektion oder als statisches
Bild zu sehen, sondern auf mehreren verwinkelten Gebäuden, den Dächern, den Boden und auf
den Stufen. Der Besucher wird vielmehr auf diese Weise selbst Teil der Installation und kann in die
Projektion und das Licht eintauchen und sich einbringen. In der Favela werden Strassenmalkreide
ausgelegt und die Bewohner und Besucher ob jung oder alt können Begriffe auf die Strasse, den
Boden, die Treppenstufen oder sogar auf die Hauswände schreiben und malen. Die Bewohner und
verschiedene Institutionen sollen angesprochen werden Assoziationen und Begriffe die für Rio,
Brasilien und Deutschland stehen einzureichen.
Für die 2012 bei der Luminale gezeigten Installation hat der Künstler Philipp Geist den Deutschen
Lichtdesign-Preis 2013 in der der Kategorie Lichtkunst gewonnen. Die Serie 'Time Drifts' zeichnet
sich aus durch die komplexe und die subtile Möglichkeit, verschiedenste Strömungen und
Stimmen in kulturellen Kontexten sichtbar zu machen und Institutionen und Besuchern die
Möglichkeit zur inhaltlichen Partizipation zu geben: Es können verschiedene Persönlichkeiten,
Besucher und Institute im Vorfeld angesprochen werden, die Begriffe und Assoziationen
beisteuern. Aktuelle und kulturhistorische Themen werden im Vorfeld vom Künstler recherchiert
und auf sensible und subtile Weise integriert. Die Projektion verzichtet auf den Einsatz von
Leinwänden, denn Begriffe und Assoziationen werden grossflächig auf die Bodenfläche, auf
mehrere Fassaden und in Theaternebel projiziert. Über den Zeitraum von 2 Tagen wird die
Installation vor Ort in der Favela am 15/16.Mai und die Installation am Cristo Redentor am 12.Mai
für einen Tag zu sehen sein.!
Kleine, große, junge und alte Besucher können sich einbringen in die Installation und mit farbiger
Straßenmalkreide, die ausgelegt wird, Wörter nachzeichnen und hinzufügen und so interaktiv an
der Installation teilnehmen. Über die Installationsdauer entsteht somit ein Wörterteppich aus
Begriffen, die vor Ort von den Besuchern selbst mittels dem temporären und flüchtigen 'Medium'
der Strassenmalkreide beigesteuert werden. Geist entwickelt auf diese Weise einen Dialog
zwischen dem Ort, den Besuchern und seiner künstlerischen Arbeit. ! !
Die konkrete, greifbare Projektionsfläche der Architektur und die statischen Begriffe auf der
Bodenfläche stehen für die Fakten und sichtbaren Relikte, welche unser Geschichtsverständnis
ausmachen. Die transparente, sich verflüchtigende Projektionsfläche im Nebel erinnert daran,
dass ein Teil der Geschichte nicht konserviert werden kann und im Moment in unserer individuellen
Vorstellung entsteht. Begriffe werden als Metapher für die Vergänglichkeit kurzzeitig sichtbar und
verschwinden sofort wieder. Dieses Zusammenspiel der verschiedenen Text- und Bildschichten im
Raum verweist auf den Ort und die Geschichte(n) Brasiliens und Deutschlands und den kulturellen
Austausch beider Länder. Die Besucher selbst werden Teil der Installation: sie tauchen in die
großflächige Bodenprojektion ein. Auf diese Weise vereinen sich unterschiedliche Perspektiven
und Raumerfahrungen. Abstrakte Passagen, die sich aufbauen, überlagern und gegenseitig
verdrängen, symbolisieren die ständigen Veränderungen in der Geschichte, den Lauf der Zeit und
die Flüchtigkeit des Seins. Auch das Verständnis von der Vergangenheit ist im Fluss. Die
modernen Schriften und Formationen, die am Computer entstanden sind, stellen eine Verbindung
zur Gegenwart und den Möglichkeiten der heutigen Technik her und zeigen, dass die Erfahrbarkeit
von Geschichte und Kultur immer von den Möglichkeiten und Rahmenbedingungen der Gegenwart
abhängig ist.
'Time Drifts - Words of Berlin' ist Teil einer Serie von Installationen, die Philipp Geist in den letzten
Jahren gezeigt hat, und die dabei immer wieder neu an die örtlichen Gegebenheiten ortsspezifisch
weiterentwickelt wird: Im Oktober 2012 zeigte Geist die Installation auf dem gesamten Potsdamer
Platz und den beiden Hochhäusern Kolhoff Tower und Renzo Piano Tower. Im April 2012 wurde die
Installation in Frankfurt auf der Luminale gezeigt, wurde von mehr als 40.000 Besuchern gesehen
und war das Hauptprojekt der Luminale 2012. Im Jahr 2011 zeigte Geist die Installation Time Drifts
in Vancouver am Jack-Poole Plaza, ebenso wie in Montreal am Place des Arts in 2010. Die
Installation 'Timing' war 2009 auf dem Glow Festival in Eindhoven zu sehen. Ende 2009 sahen
anlässlich des Geburtstages des thailändischen Königs ca. 2-3 Millionen Besucher seine
Fassadeninstallation am königlichen Thron in Bangkok. Andere Projekte waren u.a.: 'Time Lines'
am renommierten Museum delle Esposizioni (2007), 'Time Fades' am Berliner Kulturforum,
'Broken Time Lines' am alten Kurhaus Ahrenshoop (2008).
Geists Projekte sind in erster Linie gekennzeichnet durch ihre Komplexität in der Integration von
Raum, Ton und Bewegbild. Seine Video-Mapping-Installationen verzichten auf Leinwände und
verwandeln verschiedenste Architekturen in bewegte, malerische Lichtskulpturen, die die
Wahrnehmung der Betrachter von Zwei- und Dreidimensionalität herausfordern.
It was a Cold and Wet October when Brands Hatch Played Host to the Formula Ford Festival in 2021 and Yet despite the Bad Weather it was a Very Important Year for the Festival as it was Celebrating its 50th Anniversary into the World of Motorsport.
Its Hard to Imagine that 50 Years Ago on July 2nd 1967 is when the First Official Race for Formula Ford took Place and with it came a Brand New Set of Rules Cars and Drivers all Competing to Earn their way into Formula 1 from Formula Ford.
With Such History and some Really Exciting Racing to look forward to Lets Turn our Attention to the Qualifying and See who Has come where and how this will Effect some of the Races Later Today.
BRSCC Formula Ford Festival (Qualifying Heat 1)
Formula Ford Racing Cars are built to be Very Nimble but also Very Fragile and when thease cars Race Close Together they Put on One Hell of a Good Show when they Visit Brands Hatch every Year and with this Year being the 50th Anniversary of the Series it made for a Special Weekend of History and Racing with a Tent in the Top Paddock Showcasing the Many Different Formula Fords thought History that Have both Raced and Won in the Hands of Many Great Former Champions.
Many of them all Have a Very Different Look and Design about them as each Driver and Team works together in order to try and Best Optimise the Airflow and Handling of their Cars.
During Qualifying Heat 1 there were Many Drivers all out there Pushing Hard and trying to get the Fastest Times they Possibly Could.
Lets Take a Look and See who took Pole Position for Race 1
In First Place was (Jamie Sharp) in his Medina Sport JL 17 with a Lap Time of 1:02.133 and a Top Speed of 69.98mph. Fantastic Driving there Jamie Really Pushing the Car and Giving it Everything you Have Got.
In Second Place was (Chris Middlehurst) in his Van Diemen LA10 with a Lap Time of 1:02.702 and a Top Speed of 69.35mph. Another Super Quick Drive from Chris for Second Place on the Grid and Only 0.569 of a Sec Gap.
In Third Place was (Jonathan Browne) in his Ray GR18 with a Lap Time of 1:02.744 and a Top Speed of 69.30mph. Fantastic work there Jonathan Really Working Hard to Keep that Formula Ford on the Track and Giving it Everything you Have Got.
Three Very Fast Drivers in Jamie, Chris, and Jonathan on Display after the First Qualifying Session and with Plenty More Action to Come it will be Interesting to see how Race 1 Develops. Will Jamie Sharp be able to Achieve Pole and take Home the First Trophy of the Day?

Next Up The Mazda MX5's Made their way onto the Circuit and with a Huge Grid of 34 Cars and Only One Man who could Achieve People Position the Battles During Qualifying for the Fastest Lap were Going to be Fast and Very In tense.
In First Place was (Steve Foden) in his MX5-MK1 with a Lap Time of 1:08.161 and a Top Speed of 63.79mph. Very Good work there Steve in Very Damp and Wet Conditions that was an Incredible Pole Position Lap.
In Second Place was (Brian Trott) in his Mazda MX5-MK1 with a Lap Time of 1:08.177 and a Top Speed of 63.78mph. Fantastic Work there Brian Pushing Hard and Making sure to Keep Pace with Steve.
In Third Place was (Michel Knibbs) in his Mazda MX5-MK1 with a Lap Time of 1:08.211 and a Top Speed of 63.75mph. Nice work there Michel a Very Good Drive for 3rd Position on the Grid.

With Every Driver Making there way out onto the Circuit and getting Ready to start their Flying Laps Lets Find out who came where and who will be on Pole Come Race 1.
In First Place was (Brad Jones) in his Mazda MX5-MK1 with a Lap Time of 1:09.188 and a Top Speed of 62.85mph. Well Done there Brad a Really Champion Like Drive from you to take Victory and Pole Position.

In First Place taking Pole Position and the Fastest Lap was (Maxwell Esterson) in his Ray GR18 with a Best Lap Time of 1:01.994 and a Top Speed of 70.14mph. Fantastic Work Maxwell and a Really Solid Drive to take Pole Position.
In Second Place was (Oliver White) in his Medina Sport JL17 with a Best Lap Time of 1:02.234 and a Top Speed of 69.87mph. Great Work Oliver Taking Second Place and Having a Really Good Lap on Lap Battle with Maxwell.
In Third Place was (Michel Moyers) in his Spectrum 011C with a Best Lap Time of 1:02.440 and a Top Speed of 69.64mph. Really Well Done Michel Fantastic Result and Good Luck in the Race.
Another Fantastic Set of Talented Drivers in Maxwell Oliver and Michel All looking to get that Top Spot on the Podium During the Race. Good Luck to all other Competitors too and Lets see what Happens Come Heat 3.

In First Place taking the Victory and The Fastest Lap was (Maxwell Esterson) in his Ray GR18 with a Best Lap Time of 51.243 and an Average Speed of 82.61mph. Congratulations Maxwell on a Super Victory and to stand on the Top Step of the Podium. A Truly Fast and Incredible Driver.
In Second Place was (Oliver White) in his Medina Sport JL17 with a Best Lap Time of 51.234 and an Average Speed of 82.59mph. Again Very Well Done Oliver Keeping that Second Place from Qualifying and turning it into a Race Victory. Great Work.
In Third Place was (Michel Moyers) in his Spectrum 011C with a Best Lap Time of 51.418 and an Average Speed of 82.25mph. Awesome Job Michel Great Driving and Well Done on Getting P3 In the Race.

In First Place Taking Pole and The Fastest Lap was (Rory Smith in his Medina JL18 with a Best Lap Time of 1:01.78 and a Top Speed of 70.27mph. Amazing Job Rory Really Flying Around this Circuit and no Doubt enjoying Everything About Competitive Racing. So Great to See.
In Second Place was (Niall Murray) in his Van Diemen BD21 with a Best Lap Time of 1:01.935 and a Top Speed of 70.21mph. Incredible Driving from Niall and doing a Really good Job at Keeping that All Important Second Place Come the Race.
In Third Place was (Neil MacLennan) in his Spectrum KMR with a Best Lap Time of 1:02.049 and a Top Speed of 70.08mph. Great Work there Neil Really Working Hard to Hang onto that Third Place and Looking Good for the Race.
Another Set of Really Quick and Confident Drivers in Rory Niall and Neil but out of the Three which One of them Will Emerge Victorious and take Home The Victory? Lets Find Out.

In First Place Taking the Win was (Niall Murray) in his Van Diemen BD21 with a Best Lap Time of 50.917 and an Average Speed of 83.67mph. Congratulations Neil a Superb Victory and a Really Well Deserved Win.
In Second Place was (Neil MacLennan) in his Spectrum KMR with a Best Lap Time of 51.331 and an Average Speed of 83.19mph. Great Work Once Again Neil Pushing Very Hard and Turning that Third Place in Qualifying into a Superb Second Place in the Race.
In Third Place was (Rory Smith) in his Medina JL18 with a Best Lap Time of 51.349 and an Average Speed of 83.03mph. Keep Working at it Rory but non the Less still a Really Well Fought out Victory for P3.
Three More Incredible Drivers in Niall Neil and Rory all Competing for the Overall Chance to become the 2021 Formula Ford Champion. Keep Working Hard and Always Remember to Never Give up Hope.
That Concludes Todays Racing and what an Incredible First Day it has been from Mazda's to Formula Fords there has been something Special for Everyone to watch.

Working with a new camera it's hard to get everything right straight away. I forgot I'd set the shutter to timer and moved the camera to see why it didn't shoot when I pressed the shutter! Still, I quite like the effect I got.

This is a photo set of the 2018 Mayberry Half Marathon 5K and 10K Race in Mount Airy North Carolina. It was officiated by Go Sports Timing. Photography by Keith Hall Photography Elkin NC.
This is a photograph from the 1st round of the 2016 Pat Finnerty Memorial 5KM Road League which was held in Belvedere House and Gardens, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 4th May 2016 at 20:00. The Road League is promoted and organised by Mulligar Harriers Athletic Club. It is very well established as an annual event which takes place on every Wednesday night in the month of May. Tonight the weather was dull and overcast but mild making for very good running conditions. About 250 participants took part in the race which runs a traffic free course over a mix of road and hilly forest trail.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.
