The No Limits Bike Racing Championship made its formal Return to the World Famous Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit for a Very Special 8 Hour Endurance Race.
Each and Every Team Had a selection of High Powered Racing Machinery that would along with the Rider take on the Might of Brands Hatches' Grand Prix Circuit for a Gruelling 8 Hours Straight.
While Some Teams had as many as Four Riders to make the job a Little Bit Easier other Teams Had decided to go with just Two Riders for 4 Hours Each knowing they Had the Skills and Determination to Keep Racing Hard.
The Championship was in is Last Race of the Season here at Brands and Whoever Won this Final Event would take the No Limits Bike Racing Championship Crown.
Qualifying was up First and setting the Pace at the Top of the Timings was (Andelle Leathers / RatMally Graphic) on their Kawasaki 998/Kawasaki 1000 Racing Bikes with an Incredible Time of 1.31.846 and a Top Speed of 95.37 to take Pole at The Start of the Race.
In Second Place was (Delkevic Racing) Kawasaki 1000/BMW 1000/Kawasaki 1000 Yamaha 1000 Racing Bikes with a Lap Time of 1.31.784 and a Top Speed of 95.34mph.
In Third Place was (Earnshaw's Motorcycles) BMW 1000/BMW 1000 Racing Bikes with A Lap Time of 1.32.099 and an Top Speed of 95.11mph.
With Qualifying Over and a 11:46am Start Fast Approaching all of the Riders to head out for the First 2 Hours. Just like Old School Le Mans the Riders all Lined Up on the Opposite Side of the Pitlane with their Respective Teams Holding onto the Bikes Ready for them to Blast off into the Distance around the Circuit.
A Loud Bang from the Calcian Signalled the Start of an 8 Hour Endurance Race and each Rider Ran Towards their Bikes Fired them Up and Set off onto the Race Track.
During the First Hour All Riders Made it through the First Opening Laps without any Problems and already many of them were getting up to Speed while some other Riders Preferred to nurse their Machinery for the First Hour to Avoid anything Breaking or Failing on thease High Powered Machines.
As Hour two Approached Everyone was still going strong and The Riders were Each Getting into a Really Good Rhythm of the Grand Prix circuit while other Teams had opted to Head to the pits to swap Riders and Give themselves more of a chance to take Victory with a selection of different Talents and Bikes available.
The Start of Hour Three saw a lot of Different Battles Going on thought the field and on the Back Straight there was some Close Wheel to Wheel Action Between Every Rider traveling at Speeds close to Nearly 100mph. Some Riders were Pushing so Hard that Even their Front Wheels Rose into the Air Making for some Epic and Thrilling Moments. An Overtake by Rider Number 97 on 36 was the Highlight so Far.
Hour Four and Still Each Rider was not Giving Up on the Chance of Victory with Half of the Endurance Race Completed by Now it was Time for Another Rider Change and with Many Teams Heading for the Pits Once Again Each New Rider Ventured Out onto the Brands Hatch GP Circuit it Beautiful Sunlit Conditions Although thease Must Have Been Playing Havoc with the Visibility for the Riders. Non the Less After Just One Retirement Earlier Due to an Engine Fire and a Marshall that should Have Really Been More Prepared. the Remaining Riders Soldered on.
The Fifth Hour was now Upon them and after a Very Hectic and Fast set of Laps Earlier Many Riders were setting down into their Positions to make sure the Bike they were on would Survive to the End. Druids was a Place to witness some Incredible Overtakes During this Time with the Light Levels Lowering and The Riders Really Looking like they were Pushing Hard and Encouraging their Machines to solder onto Victory.
Hour Six and with the Light Levels Now Falling even Lower it looked like this Endurance Race would be Ending in Nearly Dark Conditions as the Rider Kept on Going. The Few Retirement's Earlier on during Hour 2 and 3 were now just a Memory in the Surviving Riders Minds who all had One Goal in Mind. Get This Bike to the End of The Race.
Hour Seven and by now the Light was Nearly all But Gone with the Last Rays of Sunshine Disappearing Entirely from the Tops of Druids and yet Despite this now disadvantage i terms of Having a lot less light The Riders Still Continued to Push Hard and Fight their was To Victory in the Closing Stages as the Race Reached its Climax.
The Final Hour was Finally here and Every Rider who Had Been Concentrating Hard all Day was Now in a Position to Push Hard for that Final Hour of Glory that would mean the Difference Between either a Race Victory or a Race Loss. As The Minuets Slowly Ticked Down and The Last Light of Day Had been Long Extinguished from the Circuit. it was the Team of (Delkevic Racing's Liam Marchant / Gary Johnson / James Edwards and Luke Scott who took a Resounding Victory after 232 Laps and a Gruelling 8 Hour's of Racing 2 For Each of The Riders. Congratulations Delkevic Racing an Incredible Achievement.
In Second Place was The Team of (Earnshaw's Motorcycles Jonathan Lodge and James Lodge) after 232 Laps and 4 Hour's Between Them a Super Effort and Very Well Deserved Second Place Battle Through some Very Tough Competitors.
In Third Place was (Josh Daley Racing/RC Express by Dafabet Josh Daley and Rob Hodson) after a Very Hard and Gruelling 231 Laps in the Seat of Their Racing Bikes. Amazing Work Josh Daley Racing Incredible Ride and a Very Well Deserved Third Place.
An Exceptional Day of Endurance Racing from the No Limits Bike Racing Championship with Delkevic Racing's Liam Marchant / Gary Johnson / James Edwards and Luke Scott Taking The Final Victory of the Season with Datasys Racing Mark Daines / Jeremy Watson / Johnny Panter and Joe Higham taking The Championship for 2021.
A Big Congratulations to all of the Riders who took Part in this Event in my Opinion you Made everyone who Races in the Bennet's British Super Bike Championship look like Amateurs. You Guys are the Real Deal and am Really Looking forward to Watching this Epic Race all over Again Next Year. Until Then Keep Racing and Never Give Up Hope of One Day Standing on the Top Step of the Podium.
This is a photograph from the 1st round of the 2015 Mullingar Road League which was held in Belvedere House and Gardens, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 6th May 2015 at 20:00. This year the 5KM was ran on a modified route based on the route from the last couple of years. Tonight the final 1KM stayed within the Belvedere Gardens bringing runners down to the lakeside for a second time and finishing along the aptly named Stream Of Life. The route modification meant that the race offered a slightly faster route than the hill finish of previous years.
The race is promoted by Mullingar Harriers for the Pat Finnerty Memorial Cup. Competitors need to run 3 races out of the 4 races in May (any order) to be considered in the overall placing in categories at the conclusion of the league. Over 350 people took part in tonight's event. The weather was perfect for running with sunshine with just a little breeze. The new finish area provided a nice space for runners to stay around and chat in the evening sunshine. The Mullingar Road League 2015 has started off successfully and looks to add to the success in the history of this great series.
The "Road League" is something of a misnomer but is an indication of the League's origins on the roads around Ladestown Mullingar prior to it's move into Belvedere in 2008. The Road League is the envy of many other races in the country as the Belvedere locations offers a completely traffic free 5KM route.

►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

This is a photograph from the first annual running of the Rás na Rà 5KM Road Race, Fun Run, and Walk which was held at Seneschalstown GFC, Beauparc, Navan, Co. Meath, Ireland on Saturday March 15th 2014 at 12:00. The event was promoted by Duleek and District Athletic Club. Car parking, changing rooms, showers, and refreshments were provided in the GAA club.

The race starts about 1KM from the race HQ at the lovely setting of Beauparc Railway Crossing on the old Navan-Drogheda railway line (race start here goo.gl/maps/SVWWY). The race proceeds in an anti-clockwise left handed loop, following the L1600, and passing the GAA grounds before taking a left to Dollardstown, to Yellow Furze, and bringing runners back to the start area at Beauparc for the final kilometer of the race back to the finish. The organisation was perfect for the race. All road junctions were properly stewarded. The kilometer markers were clear to see and there was lots of room for runners entering the finish area. Excellent work by the race committee. The race acted as fund raiser for the local Knockcommon National School (Scoil Naoimh Pio), Beauparc, Co Meath

This is a photograph from the Longwood GAA 10KM Road Race and Fun Run 2013 which was held in Longwood Village, Co. Meath, Ireland on Sunday 13th October 2013 at 14:00. This is the fourth year which Longwood GAA have hosted race events. In the three previous years the club had organised a 5KM road race. This year, for the first time, the club have added a 10KM road race to the agenda on the day. The events were organised as fundraisers for both the adult and juvenille teams at Longwood GAA club. The event also provided a fundraising opportunity for the local St. Vincent de Paul charity. Overall the whole day was a great success with the hard work put in by the organising committee ensuring that participants enjoyed their race experience. Both routes were accurately measured, kilometer points clearly marked, junctions well stewarded, and electronic timing provided. The event provided my local fun runners with a local event to support whilst at the same time providing runners preparing for events such as the Dublin marathon with an opportunity to race a short, fast, distance in the lead up to marathon day. The GAA club provided excellent stewarding and traffic management all around the course.

Longwood is a small village in South East Co. Meath and is close to the town of Enfield with access to the M4 Motorway.

Overall Race Summary
Participants: There were about 170 participants over the two events.
Weather: The weather was perfect for road racing with calm breeze and temperatures around 10C.
5KM Course: The 5KM course changed direction for the 2013 event. The race this year went on the reverse of the 2012 route. This seen the 5KM start at the Longwood GAA grounds and proceed into Longwood village. Runners then took a left turn in the Village down St. Oliver's Road. This straight section of road brings runners to a left turn onto a very well maintained boreen road for less than one kilometer. The race then emerges and joins with the 10KM at Stoneyford where the runners take a left and then another left before arriving back at the finish line in Longwood GAA club. Overall this is a very fast and flat 5KM with no hills to speak of.
10KM Course: The 10KM is new for 2013. The 10KM event begins in Longwood Village outside Stoney's Pub (goo.gl/maps/Of4fW) and proceeds westward out of the village. There are some interesting points along this part of the course. At the 2KM point the runners will run under the double bridges - an aquaduct for the Royal Canal and a bridge carrying the Dublin Sligo Railway line. The race then enters county Kildare just before the 3km and after taking a right turn at the four-cross roads known locally as Lally's Cross it returns to County Meath on top of the River Boyne Bridge (Ashfield Bridge) which forms the county boundary. The race follows a straight road for the next 2KM until runners encounter Blackshade bridge which is the toughest climb on the route. As a point of interest Blackshade bridge brings runners back over the Royal Canal and the Railway line. The race then crosses the River Boyne again at Stoneyford before taking a right which will bring runners on a testing two kilometer stretch with some short hills. The 10KM course then joins with the 5Km course for the final 1.5KM back to Longwood GAA club for the finish.

Took the lady out to shoot one last time for Three villages designs. We went out right before sunset and i saw this this tree. The color of the suns rays was so beautiful on it. Kind of looked like the tree was on fire. But, other then that I didn’t really do anything more. Spent my morning watching TV and spent my afternoon/evening shooting and sleeping. Another lazy day.
This is a photograph from the Rathfarnham 5KM Road Race and Fun Run which took place in Rathfarnham, Co. Dublin, Ireland on Sunday 29th September 2013 at 10:00.
This is one of the most popular runs in South County Dublin and is held in support of St. Luke's Cancer Hospital, Rathgar. This year's race attracted over 1,300 participants and the run is open to runners, joggers and walkers. The course is one of the fastest 5ks in the country with a downhill start and finish. This is an excellently organised race with marhsalling at every junction and Garda enforced road closures for the duration of the race.

Overall Race Summary
Participants: There was a record number of participants with over 1,300 people taking to the start line.
Weather: This race was held on a beautiful autumn morning. There was little or no breeze and there was mild temperatures of around 15C for the race.
Course: Overall this course is a flat and fast course. There is a net gain of 15M over the whole course with slightly downhill gradients at the start and towards the finish. The course is completely left-handed which makes for favourable conditions. All being equal the course provides an excellent opportunity for every from elite competitors to joggers to set a fast time for themselves.
The race starts at the easterly side of the N81 Tempelogue Road and Springfield Avenue. The start area is shown here on Google StreetView (goo.gl/maps/kg7FY). The race follows Springfield Avenue along the side of Bushy Park. The race overlaps the final kilometer and the finish as it proceeds to the Rathfarnham Road (Shown here Google Streetview goo.gl/maps/gRrI6). The route heads north on Rathfarnham road as there is a very gentle incline until the junction with the Temleogue Road is reached and runners make a sharp left turn onto the N81 (shown here Google StreetView goo.gl/maps/51S2t). The race then heads south along Templeogue Road where the runners can see the course unfold straight infront of them. The race turns left at Springfield Avenue again (start area) and the final Kilometer is as the first to the finish area (Google Streetview goo.gl/maps/1R08S) just before the Rathfarnham Road Junction.

Taken at the end of of a long TEDxElginSt day. A year's worth of planning came to a succesful end...
This is a photograph from the Clane and Rathcoffey Parishes annual 10KM and 5KM Road Races and Fun Runs which were held in Clane village, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Sunday 19th of October at 14:30. This year's event follows on from the very successful staging last year (see link to photographs below). The organisers offer both a 5km and 10km race and the event provides an opportunity for runners, joggers, and walkers of all abilities to take part in the event. The 5KM has a particular emphasis on family entrants. There was a wonderful atmosphere around the Village as both races started and finished on the main street outside the parish hall. The directly out-and-back routes provided an opportunity for a fast time on a good course and made for a great finish line atmosphere as runners, joggers, and walkers crossed the line. Great praise must be extended to the whole organising committee who organised a very efficiently run event. The events provide some runners with an opportunity to have a final race effort session in the week leading up to the Dublin City Marathon.

Overall Race Summary and Logistics
Participants: There were about 200 competitors combined in the two events.
Weather: The weather was very changeable for all of the events. During the 10KM race there was a heavy rain shower around the area of the 6KM mark but this didn't actually fall in the town. There was a strong headwind against competitors in the 10KM on the return part of the course between 6KM and 8KM.
Race Course:
This summary includes information on both the 5KM and 10KM races.
Both races start in the same place - just outside the Race HQ on the main street of the town. The races then proceed north eastwards out the Dublin Road towards Straffan and Celbridge. Just after 400 meters the races take a left up a small local road and proceeds along this road until it takes a tight left hand turn at the end of the lane at Capdoo goo.gl/maps/aPo26 (Google Streetview). The route proceeds until it shortly meets the Clane-Kilcock Road - College Road R407 goo.gl/maps/SGcPa. Both races will divert into Clane Business and Industrial Park goo.gl/maps/EQMf0 . The 5KM turns around and returns on the same route to the finish. However the 10KM race continues (taking a left) back onto College Road. Soon afterwards it passes the famous entrance to Clongowes Wood College on the right the race takes the next left (goo.gl/maps/zUhrJ) and brings runners onto the road known locally as the 'Long Road' (R408 Between Rathcoffey and Prosperous) at this point goo.gl/maps/fHKr2. The race proceeds northward until runners meet the Clane Kilcock Road once again. With the exception of the partial run into the Industrial Estate the race returns to the finish on the main street in Clane via the same route as the outward part of the route.

The push ups and set ups are timed. One person tells the entire group when to start and when to stop, while two-person teams perform the event. One person is taking the test, and one person counts the reps and might provide encouragement. The U.S. Army Reserve is big on the buddy system.

A male lion on the make, mates every few minutes ... it was interesting to see the interplay between the male, and his 'competing' conquests.

Busy day at work - got quite a bit done, which is handy as there's a lot to do.
But my real news today is that I reached ONE MILLION all-time views on my Flickr photos. Woohoo! I know it doesn't mean anything really, but it's a very pleasing milestone :)
Bad timing ...
This elephant bull was having a mud shower and was preparing for a throw of mud over his back. I was just a bit too quick with the shutter. A plit second later the mud was thrown right over his head onto his back. My friend Piet Grobler who was with me took the same photo and he also was a bit too quick on the shutter. Sigh!

This is a photograph from the first round of the Mullingar Road League which was held in Belvedere House and Gardens, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 7th May 2014 at 20:00. The race follows the roads and trails around Belvedere and is a very testing 5KM route. The race is promoted by Mullingar Harriers for the Pat Finnerty Memorial Cup. Competitors need to run 3 races out of the 4 races in May (any order) to be considered in the overall placing in categories at the conclusion of the league. Over 350 people took part in tonight's event. The weather was positively wintry with a very cold wind in the face of runners for the 1KM and the final KM of the race.

Can I use these photographs directly from Flickr on my social media account(s)?
Yes - of course you can! Flickr provides several ways to share this and other photographs in this Flickr set. We take these photographs as a hobby and as a contribution to the running community in Ireland. Our only "cost" is our request that if you are using these images: (1) on social media sites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter,LinkedIn, Google+, etc or (2) other websites, blogs, web multimedia, commercial/promotional material that you must provide a link back to our Flickr page to attribute us.
This also extends the use of these images for Facebook profile pictures. In these cases please make a separate wall or blog post with a link to our Flickr page. If you do not know how this should be done for Facebook or other social media please email us and we will be happy to help suggest how to link to us.
I want to download these pictures to my computer or device?
You can download the photographic image here direct to your computer or device. This version is the low resolution web-quality image. How to download will vary slight from device to device and from browser to browser. However - look for a symbol with three dots 'ooo' or the link to 'View/Download' all sizes. When you click on either of these you will be presented with the option to download the image. Remember just doing a right-click and "save target as" will not work on Flickr.
I want get full resolution, print-quality, copies of these photographs?
If you just need these photographs for online usage then they can be used directly once you respect their Creative Commons license and provide a link back to our Flickr set if you use them. For offline usage and printing all of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available free, at no cost, at full image resolution.
Please email petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com with the links to the photographs you would like to obtain a full resolution copy of. We also ask race organisers, media, etc to ask for permission before use of our images for flyers, posters, etc. We reserve the right to refuse a request.
In summary please remember when requesting photographs from us - If you are using the photographs online all we ask is for you to provide a link back to our Flickr set or Flickr pages. You will find the link above clearly outlined in the description text which accompanies this photograph. Taking these photographs and preparing them for online posting does take a significant effort and time. We are not posting photographs to Flickr for commercial reasons. Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers or in other circumstances we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.

We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?
The explaination is very simple.
Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.
ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

Getting the kids to try an experiment that made little tubs pop and fly into the air. Here, one of the tubs has popped, and is in the air, with a trail of liquid behind it – right in front of her nose! Lucky timing.
