Mar 14 - We returned to Falmouth and had to swing by Chapoquoit again, to see how the ice had changed. Spied this pile of ice just off shore near a jetty of rocks. The tide must have pushed and shoved chunks into one another building a natural mountain of ice. Amazing!

At this point the tidal river is approx. 60kms from the sea, but still has more than 1 mtr high and low tide at this spot.

 

Note.

If you want to go for a swim in a tidal river, do so only by upcoming tide.

You're less likely to drown that way.

Check the local tide tables, and live another day . .
