Tidal Wave is a giant water ride located at Thorpe Park in Surrey, England, UK. It was opened in 2000 and was Tussauds' first major investment in the park.
When the ride was constructed in 2000 it was the tallest water ride in Europe and retained the title until 2002, when Hydro at Oakwood Theme Park was opened. From 2006 to 2009, the ride was sponsored by Original Source, and from 2010 by Dr. Pepper.

Friends of the Colorado Lagoon and the City of Long Beach teamed up for a grand re-opening celebration Aug. 25. It's the first time the lagoon has been open to the public since January.
A dredge removed approximately 63,000 cubic yards of contaminated sediment that was used as fill for the Middle Harbor Project at the Port of Long Beach. Lagoon banks were re-contoured to assist with tidal flow and a planned final phase will construct an open channel to the Pacific.

The fun conclusion to the Tidal Wave ride. I went on it when I was last at the park in 2002, knew better than to try it again this time.
