Macro of a small tidal pool.

The variety of life in this little pool was amazing.

To give a idea of how small this pool was go to this Photo

The 2010 sampling in Totten Inlet for the second season of oyster emergency-related Ocean Acidification work. Pacific Shellfish Institute and Puget Sound Restoration Fund do most of the weekly field sampling for water quality (including CO2/pH) and sampling the water column for nutrients, chlorophyll , native oyster larvae, and they deploy shell collectors at three beach elevations on a rotational weekly basis to document native oyster sets. Native oysters spawn much earlier than (Japanese) Pacific oysters in Hood Canal, so this sampling has begun (for larvae) earlier than the field sampling for Pacific oysters in Dabob Bay. Duplicate sampling is done in Dabob Bay.

Today in the middle two hours of the flood you could hear the sound of the turbines under the water through the hull of the boat. 50 MW of electronic goodness.

and there is Avril, still canna get over the fact that many are wearing lifejackets fins mask and snorkel, even one with a bathing cap! It's because I grew up beside the sea I suppose.

Tidal Wave is a giant water ride located at Thorpe Park in Surrey, England, UK. It was opened in 2000 and was Tussauds' first major investment in the park.

When the ride was constructed in 2000 it was the tallest water ride in Europe and retained the title until 2002, when Hydro at Oakwood Theme Park was opened. From 2006 to 2009, the ride was sponsored by Original Source, and from 2010 by Dr. Pepper.

This tidal flat located at Dibay, Calayan Islands sprang out during low tide while totally covered with water when high tide.

Not dissimilar from my last choice - in late June 2021 - as it turns out. Definitely yummy - swordfish w Brussels Sprouts and pesto cheese potato cake topped w Dungeness Crab & lemon butter sauce. Tidal Raves was a feature in the Only in Oregon mailing - so came here before weekend started. FYI their Spanish Coffee was excellent too.

Ignoring all warnings to stay at home I went down to Gorleston Beach (Promenade) on the morning of 8th November 2007 to watch the big waves!

A tidal surge in the North Sea sparked severe flood warnings and evacuations on England's east coast. In the end things weren't as bad as predicted for the Great Yarmouth area.

My artwork shows that the ocean is always changing. The waves in Tidal Blue are chaotic and moving in all different directions, like the ocean itself. The ocean is many shades of blue with hints of green. Oceans move in many patterns. There is not only movement and waves above the surface, but also below. When looking at this piece I can almost hear the loud waves crashing on the shore just like at the beach. Tidal Blue shows the movement of the ocean and the roar of the waves.

Do I like this?

This emotional whirlwind? The tornado hurls and hurts but its a feeling that washes over the mind, soul, body, heart, chest -- a crashing ever turbulent aquamarine tidal wave. Headphones, booming bass, ecstacy inducing crescendo zooming in in into myself -- pure emotion -- a drug -- a rush. I DO like this and allow myself to wallow. Its chasing the waves, back and forth, sprinting, breathless -- endorphins racing in every vein, every hair alight with the sea's salty breezes, gently kissing every naked piece of skin. Its the slow burning stretch. It's the feeling of being A L I V E .

Taken from the west side of the Jefferson Memorial. The tide on the Potomac river is high, and that is part of the walk way underwater in the lower left hand corner of the picture. Parts of the walk way in front of the Jefferson Memorial are apparently sinking into the Tidal Basin.
