This must be the nicest beach that I have been to ...

Here's one of a couple more panoramic shots from our D.C. trip. This was taken while on a Tourmobile, crossing the bridge on the opposite side of the Basin - the bus was moving at the time, so it's not quite as sharp as it could be, but I like the view...

Tidal Wave is a giant water ride located at Thorpe Park in Surrey, England, UK. It was opened in 2000 and was Tussauds' first major investment in the park.

When the ride was constructed in 2000 it was the tallest water ride in Europe and retained the title until 2002, when Hydro at Oakwood Theme Park was opened. From 2006 to 2009, the ride was sponsored by Original Source, and from 2010 by Dr. Pepper.

Brace yourself for a tsunami of thrills on one of the UK's tallest log flumes – Tidal Wave sponsored by Dr Pepper!

Thrill seekers who ride Tidal Wave can kiss dryness goodbye, experiencing a heart-stopping 85ft plunge into the blue, producing the tallest wall of water this side of the North Sea. You will get wet!

This is one water ride where satisfaction, not just a serious drenching, is guaranteed!

Turnagain Arm is famous for its tidal bores. When there is a particularly low tide, the inrushing new high tide often appears as a wall of water.

We happened to park along Turnagain Arm just when such a bore was to occur.

You can see the bore wall as a thin white line just below the water "horizon". We were too far away to get good photos, but the bore was very impressive when viewed through binoculars. The face of the bore was at least 2 miles from us, so it could have been from 10 to 40 feet tall.

I've started a project on coastal areas, not sure what it's all about as of yet but i've wanted to do it for a while.

This is with the Graflex and it's one of the tidal pool's on Margate beach. I like the symmetry of the pool and the blue fence.

I will be uploading various other pools that I have done. (I wish I could do them all!)

This is a true "tidal pool" that was part of a lepor colony and sanitarium on St. Vincent. You can see the steps, carved out of the volcanic rock, leading down to a large round 'bath' that is filled at high tide.

The weather was just perfect on this hike.

This is my fifth day of waking up at 5:00 a.m. every morning! The tidal basin offers a new series of visual opportunities on every visit!

Macro of a small tidal pool.

The variety of life in this little pool was amazing.

To give a idea of how small this pool was go to this Photo

Brian Allen, Puget Sound Restoration Fund, setting stations for Olympia oyster spat collectors at three tidal elevations.

The 2010 sampling in Totten Inlet for the second season of oyster emergency-related Ocean Acidification work. Pacific Shellfish Institute and Puget Sound Restoration Fund do most of the weekly field sampling for water quality (including CO2/pH) and sampling the water column for nutrients, chlorophyll , native oyster larvae, and they deploy shell collectors at three beach elevations on a rotational weekly basis to document native oyster sets. Native oysters spawn much earlier than (Japanese) Pacific oysters in Hood Canal, so this sampling has begun (for larvae) earlier than the field sampling for Pacific oysters in Dabob Bay. Duplicate sampling is done in Dabob Bay.
