This is the Ross Sea. Water freezes from the top down, leaving salty water underneath the ice. The frozen sea still experiences high and low tide, which may cause cracks in the ice like this one.
Tidal Reflections // Washington, DC
I was lucky enough to capture the sunset on a cool, still evening down by the Tidal Basin at the National Mall in DC. The Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorial begin to glow as the evening commuter traffic fills the city.

Apologies that I have been absent for quite a while on landscapes, but this is the new series running with my recent visit back to my most favourite place for shooting in Victoria, Wilson's Promontory
From one of the monorail/train stations you could look out over the tidal pool that you could swim in. This also served as the feeder for water into the dolphin enclosure.
Views of Tidal River, and Mount Oberon and Mount Latrobe at Wilson's Promontory, a National Park at the southernmost point of mainland Australia.
