Odette & Derek: For as long as I remember We've been told we'd someday wed Every June until September

Derek: All their pushing and annoying hints

Odette: I've got bruises with their fingerprints

Derek: I can do much better I am sure

Odette: He's so immature

Odette: I see him smiling and my knees start buckling I see inside him and my doubts are gone

Derek: She started out as such an ugly duckling And somehow suddenly became a swan

Odette: So happy to be here

Derek: 'Til now I never knew

Odette & Derek: It is you I've been dreaming of

Derek: This is my idea

Odette: This is my idea

This is a section of the South Muskoka river just below Muskoka Falls.

This year, Nights 3 and 4 are combined, so we celebrated both together: Goddess Chandraghanta and Goddess Kushmanda.

Although fearsome in this aspect with all Her arms and weapons, Chandraghanta is actually the goddess of peace and tranquility, and spreads a sense of calm all around Her. Chandraghanta gives the blessing of delight in our spiritual practice, and is therefore a powerful ally along the spiritual path.

Goddess Kushmanda is considered to be the creator of the universe. When there was darkness everywhere and there was no existence of the universe, She created the universe with a smile.

Every night of Navaratri we perform a Guru-puja, Kalash-puja, yajna, abhishekam, and arati, as well as Divya Prabandham satsangs from different speakers and comments throughout the evening by Gurudev Himself. Tonight, Gurudev continued His commentary on the Mukunda Mala Stotram.

This was an OKC Photo Adventures Meetup Group. A group dedicated to outdoor photo adventures! This group is all about getting together for an occasional adventure, improving our photo skills, and capturing some awesome shots. This is our group so if you would like to host a trip feel free to organize one. This group is for anyone that enjoys outdoor photography.

This is why we fought the war, boys! Two men admire the legs of three women. The people in this tiny photo are identified on the back as Red, Edna, Jo, Mary, and Lyle. Lyle's hand touches Mary's thigh, but Mary seems to be okay with this -- unless he did it at the last second before the photo was snapped. It's dated June 29, 1947.

I said that "This is why we fought the war!" but I don't know if Red and Lyle were in World War II. Red might be too young.

Jo and Mary are wearing bikinis, by the way.

This Jo is almost certainly the same Jo in another photo, from 1949.

Images for *Living with geeks*

'... This week, I transferred my blog to Wordpress; your pizza/Linux photo is a great image which I posted as the masthead for the site (with attribution cited in the blogroll). Are you amenable to the photo being used like this? It fits well with my project's treatment & the stories which the interviews yield --- see it here: http://livingwithgeeks.wordpress.com/ ...' (Jill M Foster)

Hi Jill, thanks for asking permission and complying (sort-of) with the CC licensing the image, 2006JUL021140 is released under. The type of Creative Commons license I've released all the flickr images under require:

* Attribution (let others copy, distribute, display, and perform your copyrighted work — and derivative works based upon it — but only if they give credit the way you request.).

* Non Commercial (let others copy, distribute, display, and perform your work — and derivative works based upon it — but for noncommercial purposes only)

* Non Derivative (let others copy, distribute, display, and perform only verbatim copies of your work, not derivative works based upon it.)

Checklist

* I've seen the attribution & without specific instructions from me, this is fine. Simple link back to the original image with attrribution.

* The non commercial bit is pretty simple & I'll take the most lenient interpretation on this because one image, does not a commercial enterprise make. I'll digress here for a bit.

marketing 101

Software is my main vocation. Writing, drawing, images & photos are just ways to get others to notice the first bit. So unless your entering the original or derivative and making bucket loads of cash I'll be lenient in my definition of what is commercial. To get an idea take a look at the site, gapingvoid and look at how Hugh MacLeod uses his images, in this case cartoons to market his sites without charging for them. It makes no sense to charge for the images, but at the same time you don't want others to commercially exploit them for pure commercial gain.

The reaon I've added the non-commercial license is to stop image trawling companies grabbing a few images from lots of people & re-selling access, associated adverts etc.

* The non - derivative bit is one area where you have stumbled. The license I've chose prohibits this particular practice. But given the rip-mix-burn idiom is really one of the reasons the Creative Commons license was devised (ie: the ability to grab something, with attribution and build something else maybe for you it is too prohibitive.

Propose

So I grant for you (Jill Foster of Living with Geeks) , a re-license the image with the following restrictions or relaxations on my normal license. This means you don't have to change anything on your current page & can use it as is. I'll send this text in an email at some time to confirm it with you (as per your email sent 'your photo + interviewing for my documentary').

I grant Jill Foster of Living with Geeks (and only Jill Foster) the following license for this image.

* Attribution You must attribute the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor.

* Non Commercial You may not use this work for commercial purposes.

* Share Alike If you alter, transform, or build upon this work, you may distribute the resulting work only under a license identical to this one.

You can find a human readable explanation here and a legal definition here. The license has been modified to comply with Australian law meaning it is recognised under copyright law in Australia.

Fun day at the shop this week!

This is the latest batch of decap's that I did. Some real challenges with the neck, especially R14 and R19. Will be a lot of work, but well worth it!

was really surprised to see that the R14 figure with catalogue head of wade tolera, is added on and the neck is thicker than his twin R15/joe.

Was a LOT of bondo in that neck!

April, this month, is the cruelest month. Really. Sun hints and

promises; winds prevent and ice threatens; Mr Eliot's dead lands

prevail.

But October -- October is the lushest month. Whatever pregnant

dead land follows in winter is produced in October. Most leaves

haven't turnt yet. Mushrooms are thriving. Sphagnum moss is as soft

as a pillowed mattress. The air's still warm and smells better than

the lilacs that -- not in this forest -- will creep out of the dead

land of front yards somewhere else.

This is an image from my collection. Although predominantly slide scans, it includes other types of media as well. All have been collected over the past 40+ years of shooting Kodachrome and digital images, slide purchases and many years of exchanging. I was fortunate enough to trade with some of the best airliner photographers around the world.

Created in 2017, this is a curated archive that serves to share what otherwise would be kept in binders and boxes, not being enjoyed by anyone, myself included.

This pattern shows 2 types of pleats crossings : The double-pleat + 3 single-pleats and the old triangular twist.

Linear designs are not frequently folded by people here, I feel rather alone.

They seem to be considered "un art mineur" (lesser art ?), in comparison with hexagonal symmetry.

I'm wondering why.

This is the first I've seen since before the frogspawn!
