This series generally documents the development of Batdorf, the GBH. We visited the nest about once a week. Amazing how fast they grow! Captured from 70+ meters with digiscope.
The main building (honden) of Namba Jinja. Again, we can see sacred rope (shimenawa) and paper (shide).
Built as Kami-Namba Shrine by Emperor Hanzei in honor of his father, Emperor Nintoku, this shrine was originally located in Kawachi and moved sometime after the construction of Osaka Castle. It later became more famous for its sub-shrine during a time when Inari was rising in popularity in the religious community. The Inari shrine also boasted a theater of which the Bunraku Theater in Osaka takes its name.
Namba Shrine. Namba, Osaka.
This young girl spent almost 30 minutes plucking confetti from the ground and throwing it back into the air at Rabadan, Bellinzona.
This week's photo journey was to Hanging Rock Park. This pic is Tory's Falls. Little less than 1/4th mile from a parking lot, but the good places to take pics are also quite dangerous. Slip and it's a long drop into the rocky gorge. And not a lot of visitors through here.
This is a photograph from the 14th annual Daingean Festival 5KM Road Race and Fun Run held in Daingean, Co. Offaly, on Friday 2nd August 2013 at 19:30. The race is held annually on the Friday before the August bank holiday weekend and over the years has built a solid reputation as a challenging 5KM. Several former olympians have set course record times on the course as well as personal bests for many other runners over the years. This year the course changed from it's traditional 4 laps of Daingean village (see below). The race also benefits from the fantastic support of athletes from the running clubs of Offaly, Laois, Westmeath, and beyond.
Congratulations to all of the organising committee, those from Tullamore Harriers and Naomh Mhuire AC who assisted with race organisation, and the local community who come out in strength to offer support and encouragement to the runners. The race marks one of the first events in the annual Daingean Music and Holiday Festival. The Daingean 5KM road race is an example of a small local race which year-in year-out attracts a quality field for all categories whilst also providing a great opportunity for those new to running to sample a race experience.

Overall Race Summary
Participants: There was about 180 participants
Weather: Whilst there was a threat of thundery showers the evening was dry and humid with temperatures around 18C. The runners had a breeze in their faces for the first 2 km but this turned to a tail breeze for the remainder of the race.
Course: The race starts at the Canal at the Edenderry road end of the village. The race then proceeds to do one full loop of the Circular road and then proceeds out the main Tullamore road. At 3KM the course takes a series of right turns which brings the race back to the finish just off the main street opposite the hall.
Location Map: Start (goo.gl/maps/ubSxX) and finish just off main street (goo.gl/maps/skbk0)
Refreshments: There was a very impressive selection of refreshments provided for participants in the village hall afterwards.

How can I get a full resolution copy of these photographs?
All of the photographs here on this Flickr set have a visible watermark embedded in them. All of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available offline, free, at no cost, at full image resolution WITHOUT watermark. We take these photographs as a hobby and as a contribution to the running community in Ireland. Our only "cost" is our request that if you are using these images: (1) on social media sites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter,LinkedIn, Google+, etc or (2) other websites, web multimedia, commercial/promotional material that you provide a link back to our Flickr page to attribute us. This also extends the use of these images for Facebook profile pictures. In these cases please make a separate wall or blog post with a link to our Flickr page. I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.
Don't like your photograph here?
That's OK! We understand!
If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.
I want to tell people about these great photographs!
Great! Thank you! The best link to spread the word around is probably www.flickr.com/peterm7/sets
This was taken from 83rd Street in Virginia Beach, VA on September 24, 2012 around midnight. The bright star in the center is Jupiter. To the right of Jupiter is the Hyades cluster, part of the Taurus constellation (it looks like a house on its side). The Pleiades cluster is directly above the Hyades cluster (it looks kind of like the little dipper, but smaller). To the left of Jupiter is the Auriga constellation with its brightest stars Capella and Beta Aurigae. The bright star to the right of Jupiter is the red giant Aldebarah. You can also see part of the Perseus constellation at the top. Photo by Mackenzie Brunson

This is the little house that we are going to put together. I am going to start making my person soon.
This is Daphne, she is looking for a new home!
Check out my blog for her details (link in profile)
She's not quite done yet, I need to work on her hair, but I was loosing light!
Call dibs if you are interested!
This is where me and Ryan did some Go-Karting...we had the track to ourselves. It was a very hot day out, but we had fun nonetheless.
This is my parents' cat. She has been absent from my 365 so far because she doesn't let me get close enough to her to snap any pictures. I caught her off guard today and was able to get this one really quickly.
This is the second drawing in cartoon format I've done on the issue of canned hunting. The drawing follows the life cycle of a captive bred African lion and the economy it generates for Lion Farmers through out its short life span. Canned hunting is legal in South Africa and generates millions of dollars for the trophy hunting and cub petting industry. The message of this drawing is clear. Don't support cub petting or the canned hunting of the African Lion
This is a photograph of a Venus Flytrap. it is one of the most interesting and unique plants around. What makes it so unique is the fact that it actually feeds on bugs that are unlucky enough to be caught in it's trap.
A real piece of hokum that stopped me nodding off. they don't make movies like they did in the 40's,yet this was amusing in a rather bazaar kind of way.
161/365:
They're a pretty rad crew of guys. Hopefully this spring we'll be able to take some more photos and maybe I'll get to hear some more of their music.
This is my first attempt at merging multiple photos at different exposures into one final photo. I think I just got addicted to another aspect of the Photoshop Elements software! I still have a lot to learn about this process, but it sure makes a cheapie camera look good!
This is a former lake that has been drained because of an inadequate dam, and is looking more like a meadow with the overgrowth. Sad to see the lake gone, but nice photo opportunity in its' place!
Well, let's give the Lord some Praise today and let His Glory shine!!
