my beloved, beautiful clouds will always be with me... ;D
This is a very special kind of lenticular clouds layered on the top of distant mountains, in Corse, France. In the foreground, the incredible UNESCO World Heritage rocks of the Calanches.
PS: I am OFF on holiday until sunday, no internet!
see you soon! ciao!
Dovunque io vada...
PS: Sarò in vacanza all'estero fino a domenica, niente internet!
Un saluto, ciao!
I went out to MONA yesterday to have a look at the On the Origin of Art exhibition. As always, too much to see, I didn’t give myself enough time and will have to go back... But this was fun. Dotty floors, walls, and ceilings, dotty inflatable ...things, mirrors.

Most years I can not even get a photo of it. Well this year I was luck. I am thinking on get it made into a print through Flickr. I have a gotten a few from them and they have all come out just wonderful.

After 2 hours of sitting waiting for Otters this beautiful Stag presents itself to me. Couldn’t resist the photo opportunity !
Taken with the iPhone 7.
As a photographer, I am rarely without my cameras. There is usually always one within arm's reach. But this Monday, on my way to work, the morning fog revealed a rising sun – aligning beautifully over a nearby barn – provided an opportunity I didn't want to miss. Rather than changing to a wide-angle lens, I quickly grabbed my phone and snapped a series of shots.
This is a part of a flower and made this in the room (before the window) using the light from outside.
This isolated little chapel is near Saint Sulpice le Dunois, and is believed to date from the 12th century, but I suspect it has been altered somewhat since then. The building is almost overwhelmed by the massive lime tree next to it, which is said to be 600 years old.

This lovely image of three Yellow-billed Oxpeckers perching on a Cape Buffalo was taken by Nelis Wolmarans on a recent South African tour. Ticks and other insects feasting on the host animal are removed by oxpeckers (a symbiotic relationship), although the overall merits of the oxpeckers behaviour is speculative as wounds on the animal are often kept open by the oxpeckers as they have a weak spot for blood (and in this instance only the oxpecker benefits!).

Nathaniel's dream is to get closer to God and to make sure his mom is happy.
Nathaniel is currently four years old and carrying wood with his two sisters down a dusty cart-road in an unmarked Amish village somewhere between Allegheny and Tionesta, Pennsylvania. In pauses between talking to me, he looks sideways at his older sisters, who peacefully nod towards him. I tell him that he looks big and strong and then I help him carry the wood to his parents' home, where he lives with his other nine brothers and sisters.

We took my dad for a walk in a park yesterday. It felt so good to be able to take him out and to see him with his eyes wide open, absorbing and observing what's around him. He is not able to talk, but I know from the look on his face that he had a great time.
So, we saw a group of ducks and this cutie caught my eyes. :)
I am catching up in visiting your streams. Things have been hectic here since my mom passed away. Please bear with me.
This is my new favorite spot:) I'm sorry if you're getting sick of it!
Buuuut, more description later... Mmmmm...

Morning - Beck
So, the family are - once again, in London to visit my wife's side of the family. We had a fantastic day today; the girls went for a spot of cream tea (what-what); while the boys went to HMS Belfast on the River Thames, next to London Bridge.
Visiting London also means more help from my father-in-law, with lots of photographic-advice, and use of his Pentax and macro lens! This image was taken early this morning - when any normal person ought to have been in bed! Haha!
Does anyone see the little birdie? :)

This guy must of been here a while, this place was huge. The front was all glass also plus some nice size tree's in here.
Art is not something i particularly approve of meself. Much like terrorism, it's defined not by the thing itself but by who did it and why. This though, this is definitely Art, or at least a picture of some in its natural habitat, the Royal Academy of Arts.
I returned to this location near Spangle, Washington with a friend to capture the Milky Way and try our hand at light painting. I had to get up at 2:30 to see the Milky Way between 3:30-4:30. It was worth the lack of sleep and standing an hour and a half with the temperature in the low 20's.
A great Streetshot I took in Peking China. It was taken in a little chinese Park in the city of Peking.
Billy just loves his Trump onsey.
Billy does not know what he's doing with his life.
He doesn't talk much.
Billy likes to peer into the deepest parts of your soul with his lifeless loving eyes.
Billy loves people.
His girlfriend is named Denice.
Their relationship is awkward...
Because Billy doesn't talk much...
Oh, hello.
When did you get here?
Have you met Billy?
This is Billy.

This was taken in Arches National Park in Utah.
Many thanks to Mac Danzig for providing instruction and inspiration, both of which helped to obtain this shot. His star trails are really great.
This was roughly a 30min single exposure shot at 400 ISO. In retrospect, I wish I would have used 200 ISO, as the 400 speed was a bit noisier than I expected. At least the temperature was down in the 30's, which along with the long exposure noise reduction did a good job of keeping the image sensor noise to a minimum.
The light painting was done with an LED spotlight with a CTO gel.
I welcome any input or criques on this shot, especially from those that have experience in shooting star trails. ....I actually love to get feedback good or bad (contructive hopefully) on any of my photos.
This Great Blue Heron was grooming itself in the morning sun. It stopped long enough to get a shot. Shot with a Nikkor 200-500 @ about 450 f5.6
This series has been taken on a regular guided tour of the "Musée National des Mines de Fer Luxembourgeoises" (National Mining Museum): Handheld with on camera speedlite. No tripod, no long- nor multiple- exposures. Pseudo-HDR (from one single exposure) processed with HDR Efex Pro 2 from the NIK Collection.

Walert (iron ore mine):
This small pale blue flower was nestled in among some tall grasses and trees. Sunlight was filtering through the grass and catching part of the flower.
Thank you "VA Nuthatch" for the I.D. of this aptly named "Love in a Mist" (Nigella damascena)
This was one of four deer in some long grasses preparing for another cold night in the -5 deg C weather in George Green. Shot taken around dusk.
This is my first visit here this year mostly because like everything else it has been closed. So to mix things up I decided to do a long exposure.
This flower with petals so soft to touch
Cradles nature's portal
Where waves rise
and sweet ambrosia falls
This flower with petals so delicate and refined
Lay at the entryway of an open vessel
Waiting with a velvet whisper
to be filled with the seeds of nature's life
This flower with petals so tame and silent
Begs the onlooker to experience it's hiddenness
And after one look, one taste
She has caught her prize

This is the oldest Wesleyan Chapel that has been in continuous use since being built. Wesley preached here and it is a remarkable example of Non conformist architecture. He recommended the octagonal shape to avoid conflict with the established church. The chapel was later expanded so becoming an elongated octagon. On the right is the Church Hall built about 100 years after the Chapel.

This is the completed California Dreamin quilt top :o) To compliment (I hope) the off center Barn Raising layout I pieced a diamond border to only run along the two sides. Now to begin the quilt back :o)
An quick evening walk in the direction of The Braaid provided me and Ellen with some gorgeous views across the Manx hills. Getting to see friends like Ellen after a couple of months away at uni are one of the things I love about being home.
