Unidentified friend of distant relative. I believe this was taken in California. Found in an old collection I was fortunate to scan a couple of years back. I think this girl was trying to get started in modeling.
Correct me if this isn't a rockfish, someone, please. I'm a biologist, but not a marine biologist.
In any case, after some major color correction, I thought this turned out quite nice...

This shot was taken in the recent visit to Orissa, India. This is beautiful Khandagiri , Orissa.
The weather on day one was not good , we faced a small storm. This was taken after the storm.
This place is mingling with wild monkeys, but the good thing is they follow rules. Here I saw this she was on her own world of thinking .
Facts about Khandagiri caves
Khandagiri Caves are found in the hills, which are 6 km from Bhubaneshwar. The caves on the two low hills of Udayagiri and Khandagiri give ample proof of Jain and Buddhist occupation of the region at least by the 2nd century B.C. Khandagiri means "broken hill".
The Khandagiri Caves are reached via a steep path which divides halfway up the hill. To the right is Ananta Cave with its carved figures of elephants, and women which are worth a visit. It offers a fine bird eye view of Bhubaneshwar from its summit. The steep path up divides about third of the way up the hill. Further along there is a series of Jain Temples and, at the top, there is another Jain Temple dating from the 18th Century.

On my drive up to Wales, I stopped here and took some pictures of the neighboring village. I think the GPS said I was by Stocksbridge, but I can't be certain. Eitherway, I thought it was cool being up above their little town.
A new year is coming. Will it be any different than the old year? I wonder.

What's on your mind. A spontanous photoshoot in our livingroom of my youngest boy Christopher. I just think it was a nice expression on his face.
For this shot I just used i simple umbrella with a speedlight on a stand at camera-right. Christopher did the rest.
Shoes, hats, and dresses -- all with some pink in them (and most of them reflected) -- at the Think Pink exhibit at the MFA. It "explores the history and changing meanings of the color as its popularity ebbed and flowed in fashion and visual culture from the 18th century to the present day."
Think of the parties here, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Mary Pickford, and it is a historical record of art throughout the world. All in one property on the coast.
so, basically, a couple hundred years ago (i think!) when seattle was first getting started they had horrible sewage problems.
the tide would come in and flood the land and all the shit (literally) would rise up from the holes in the outhouses and flood the streets
at some point there was a major fire in seattle and they decided afterwards, when rebuilding, to raise the level of the earth by dumping dirt into the city
however, that project was going to take 10 years. so, in the meantime, impatient people started rebuilding. the government decided, when they were ready, to literally pave over the buildings... making them "below" ground.
once they were paved over you had to climb a ladder down to get to the buildings you wanted to visit.
crazy! people went up and down ladders all day to shop and work.
there are a few portions of "the underground" that remain today. very smelly, dirty... bugs. but pretty cool to take a tour of. there's no actual business or anything down there today... you can only access it via the tour!
I think it will be a while before I go out to this spot again. It's a great spot, every time I've gone, 2-3x, there's always been other "Train people" there. That's not the issue. The way the tracks are laid out, if I want to be able to flick graff on all of the tracks, not facing the sun, it's going to be a lot of running.
I don't know how many of you follow me and also bench, but if you do, you'll understand that there's great spots, there's good spots, and then there's difficult spots. All of them can have lots of action, but some spots are WAY better than others for getting flicks. This is one of those spots where it's super chill, other train people there, but getting flicks of graff is difficult for me. We get a lot of stackers, and if shooting with the sun, the tracks are progressively lower.... Hard to explain, but this is a great spot, just not easy. I'll visit again in the coming months and see if I can get it to work for me, but as it is right now, I like to go there, I don't like to get flicks there.
Fun Story: I drove down in-between the tracks today for the first time. Everything was fine. Most people stop to watch the trains from the access road above. Probably 25ft. higher and 50ft. from the closest track. Whatever.
I'm there for maybe an hour at this point, lots of cars and trucks coming and going. One stops, some small SUV thing. Father/Son. Son about 12-14yrs. I'm about 40 yards away, but down the hill from them, and I can clearly hear everything they are talking about. Father seems very supportive of the son's interest in trains. Cool ! First train (for them) starts down the tracks and I hear a train whistle, but it's not from a train, it's from the kid. He's got one of those wooden train whistles and he starts blowing it when he sees the train.
Gave me a smile. I could clearly her the kid talking about the UP, and then the BNSF, etc etc.. Kid seemed to know his stuff. We had one NS train come through and he spotted it from a mile away. The kid filmed every train that came through while they were there, and the father was telling him something about his intro's on YouTube, so I'm sure he's a YouTuber. I really wanted to go up and talk to them before they left and see if they were from around here or not. If not, I have some fun spots they might want to check, but they left before I could.
Getting ready to leave after only a couple hours and I can see there's some graff on one of the small train bridges. Decided to check it out before leaving. F-ing cool spot. Lots of writer's monikers, and quite a few larger pieces. Had a lot of fun trudging through the weeds, and the small stream to catch some flicks of all the goodies under and around the bridges. If I go back there, it will be to check out the bridge graff.
