I think this was the coldest day of the 2014 Texas Renaissance Festival all season - it was downright nasty with bone-chilling cold, a big storm moving in - but pretty good shooting conditions considering the heavy overcast. There photos are from Saturday of the Barbarian Invasion weekend, usually one of the most crowded weekends at TRF. I think only the diehard Rennies came out to day, but it was still a blast!
I took these photos in November 2014 at the TRF in Todd's Mission, TX, about 60 miles NW of Houston, TX.
I think I may have taken too long taking photos of Asa. She didn't mind showing just how she was toward the end of the shot.

I think school may have got in the way as it was a full week later before we made our way to Mossley Road depot in Ashton, did we buy our usual all day ticket which would only have got us as far as Audenshaw, or did we buy single journeys. If it was the former a brisk walk would be required from Audenshaw into Ashton as this is the boundary between the two towns and the Manchester ticket would not be valid. At Ashton we were again allowed in and found the trolleys around the back, after exploring and taking photos we made our way to leave

if any of you are unaware, the northeast had just been smacked by an intense blizzard. this was one of the top 6 biggest to ever occur in new york state. i've been thinking a lot about summer lately and decided to post this, taken back in july while traveling upstate. summer 2011, where are you?

This was probably the best shoot I've ever had. The band was really cool, and way fun. The ideas they had were really funny and we all had a great time, with lots of laughs and giggles. Check them out, they're a great bunch of guys with a whole mess of talent!

Not really sure how I should post process it within that software. Got a lot of learning to do.
Taken at the Leighton Observatory, Pex Hill, Widnes whilst at the Liverpool Astronomy open night held each Wednesday evening.
I think my interest in London's prefabs was spurred after hearing a news report - around 2009 - about proposals to demolish an entire prefab estate in the London Borough of Lewisham, known as the Excalibur Estate, for modern redevelopment.
I think my initial reaction was that these buildings, erected in the years after WW2, were such a part of Britain's post-war social history, that they would presumably be under some kind of protection. It seemed fair to assume that, if the surviving examples of the buildings had already withstood more than 50 years of wear and use, they were probably fairly safe.
However, I began getting quite a shock when I started looking up their locations, and going to see them. The first ones I went to see were around Nunhead, in the London Borough of Southwark, and in this area the process of vacating and demolishing them was already in progress, ahead of neighbouring Lewisham.
Notes
1) the Excalibur Estate was a whole estate of prefabs concentrated together: it was the largest estate of prefabrictaed buildings in western Europe.
2) this set of photos dates from mid-2012, by which time dwellings were being vacated and were being boarded up as soon as they were emptied.
I think this is the working which should have been lead by 45118 had it not failed its exam. LSL's 37667 + 37521 lead 1Z45 back towards Crewe through Grantshouse and despite the lighting not being perfect for the northbound shot I'm happy with the results.

Jared Polin of RAW Talk, etc, while at THINK TANK PHOTO a few weeks back. Not my best shot, but was grateful to meet him and he was kind enough to sit back at the mic for the photo. Photographed with the Mamiya 1000s 645, 85 f/1.9 (wide open) at 1600 using Delta 3200 and pulled 1 stop. That lens is a pain to focus wide open, but that's half the fun.
Some of the walls encountered diving the Great Barrier Reef were BIG. It's hard to describe so hopefully the photo gives you some idea of just how big. These walls drop away into complete darkness as they stretch into the abyss.

That’s the advice Oscar Smith coaches gave quarterback Dominique Brooks for Friday’s Class 6 Region A semifinal against Ocean Lakes.
And after a shaky start, the lessons sank in. Brooks threw for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead the Tigers to a 31-6 victory at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex. The Tigers, who advanced to their 14th consecutive region final, play at No. 1 seed Landstown next Friday.
And to get there, Johnson knew Brooks had to have a big game.
But things didn’t start well. The Tigers fumbled three times in the first half. Fortunately for them, the defense was able to hold the Dolphins to a field goal.
The defensive hold was crucial for the Tigers, who had struggled of late.
After holding Southeastern District teams to just 20 total points in eight games, they allowed 29 to King’s Fork in the loss that ended their 99-game district winning streak. And last week, they gave up 21 to Cox in the region quarterfinal.
The only points Ocean Lakes came away with was Shawn Hamilton’s 41-yard field goal in the first quarter for a 3-0 lead.
Oscar Smith (10-2) scored in the second quarter, when Brooks connected with Kenny Etheridge on a 38-yard pass to help give the Tigers a 7-3 lead with 2:22 left.
The Tigers added three more points at the end of the half on Azeez Attar’s 30-yard field goal for a 10-3 lead.
Johnson was pleased to see Brooks settle down.
Brooks gave the Tigers a 17-6 lead in the third quarter when he scored on a 1-yard run. Following Marrio Smith’s interception, Brooks delivered the knockout punch with a 73-yard touchdown pass to Karon Prunty.
