Created for a 7 year old's birthday celebration at her dance school.
Pink Sprinkle Mini Cupcakes topped with buttercream and adorned with gumpaste butterflies, flowers, and ballet shoes, and a regular sized cupcake topped with a ballet tutu for the birthday girl.
Thistles are beautiful but they have very sharp spines - all over! Chosen as Photo of the Week for challenge week 30 by Ricky Tims

I had to make a cake for a winter wonderland and a grand mother to be. Here is my design. This is my first attempt to make a gumpaste character.

A cake made for a horse-themed morning tea at work. I didn't make or decorate the cake... I just took the photos.
October and this chap was not inapproriately dressed. It was unseasonably warm and the weather forecasts suggests we won't need the heating for a while yet
Because I wander the urban streets for hours every day, I often shoot pigeons, which are urban birds. This photograph has over the doves and behind them a rectangular layer of gray skies of winter. The skies occupy about two-thirds of the photo. Under the doves there's a roof that holds them, and underneath the wall there's a wall which consists of layers of rectangles. The doves themselves are organized like in a military parade on their own rectangular layer. All pigeons facing forward except one keeping an eye so that the group will not get an unpleasant surprise from behind. Weak sunlight illuminates the pigeons from the right from above and from behind, and casts weak shadows on the wall.

בגלל שאני משוטט ברחובות העיר במשך שעות מדי יום יוצא לי, לעתים קרובות, לצלם יונים, שהן ציפורים עירוניות. בצילום הזה יש מעל ליונים ומאחוריהן שכבה מלבנית של שמים אפורים של חורף. השמים תופסים כשני שליש מהצילום. מתחת ליונים יש גג שמחזיק אותן, ומתחתיו קיר. הקיר מורכב משכבות של מלבנים. היונים עצמן מסודרות כמו במסדר צבאי על שכבה מלבנית משלהן. כל היונים פונות קדימה מלבד אחת שמשגיחה שלא תהיה לקבוצה איזו הפתעה לא נעימה מאחור. שמש חלשה מאירה את היונים מימין מלמעלה ומאחור, ומטילה צללים חלשים על הקיר
The Theme of this week's K-Pop Academy was 'Traditional & Contemporary Korean Music: Arirang & Noraebang'.
After learning different versions of Korea's most famous song Arirang, the students all sang a version of the Arirang together. After this they compared Korean and British pop starts from the 60s until the present.
After which the students were divided into 4 groups and given a team T-Shirt. Students were required to sing certain K-Pop songs having only heard them twice, any mistakes ended in a soaking!!
Finally to bring the afternoon to a close they sang Girls Generation’s ‘Gee’ and SHINee’s ‘Replay’.
One of the many designs painted all over the walls at Chokhi Dhani. These give a nice touch to the place.
I decided to finish the Flickr lounge week with another pic from the Japanese garden, Portland.
I don't know what the inscription on the stone says, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't say "Let's fight and blow each other up" :(
