Here is my entry for round 8 of rogue olympics with the topic Icons. I settled on the idea of making 3 of the classic themes; city, space, and castle. I built the symbol of each theme, in addition to an icon from the theme. I built the galaxy explorer with the classic space logo for space, a minifigure with the 2x4 brick for city, and the yellow castle with the logo that appeared on flags in the set.

A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination.

Quote by Nelson Mandela

Yes, this year in our large kitchen, the theme is ALL HEARTS... lol.

So, a heart-given image.

In many countries, it is quite traditional to have handmade and woven decorations in white and red, silver and gold...

I have shoots where they give me things to photograph and never want it back, that means I can do my free photography when I have time, and after that, it goes to the charity shop.

Sprinkle a bit of festive angle-dust around you, you'll feel great!

Don't ever let the child in you die!

I wish you all the very best, and thanx for all your kind words, time, comments and faves. Very much appreciated. M, (*_*)

Week 38 theme is "depth of field". I shot this in our backyard with a 200mm 2'8 Nikon lens. Cropped in Lightroom 3.

Cactus flowers seem strange when you look at them closely, but I think they look more strange as background to a bird. Bird on a tree is familiar and not interesting. Cactus Flowers without a bird this is something that might interest cacti lovers. The combination of a bird that looks like it is sitting on a tree with flowers on closer inspection is an interesting combination. This photo reminds me of the vegetation in the period of the dinosaurs, as restored in the films according to fossil plants.

The Kobra is a Zamperla flat ride based in Chessington World Of Adventures, a theme park in London. As with all rides of its type, riders sit in a motorcycle-like position in outward-facing seats at the edge of the circular ride platform. The ride model features an airtime hill (AKA camel back hump) in the middle of the track, and two steep slopes at either end. The platform spins and travels backwards and forwards along the track at moderate speed.

The Kobra features two large snake statues at either end of the track; giving the ride its name. Riders sit at the edge of a circular ride car, which spins along 90m of track at 43mph. The ride model includes a camel back hill in the centre of the track to give the car airtime as it travels over. The Kobra is only the second model of its type in Britain, after The Edge at Paulton's Park. The Kobra opened in the 2010 season in the new 'Wild Asia' land at Chessington.

The rocks and cliffs at Porth Nanven, which sits at the end of the Cott Valley near St Just in West Cornwall, are much photographed. This is my attempt at representing the interesting shapes on offer there.

The first print of the session, so the colours are not too interesting, but I was impressed at the lack of mudiness you often see with 'early' lith prints. This is the first of a series made in a single printing session that I'll be uploading over the coming days.

Photos from around camp during our Teen Week this year. The camp theme was "The Great Cairn Mystery!"

Added a sidebar menu and some tweaks here and there. Hope to code this up somewhere during this weekend.
