I decided that the theme I wanted was light out of darkness. It was a great experience for me because half way through I started to get frustrated because I was trying too hard. Rather than give up, like I might normally do, I relaxed and just let my intuition guide me. I wanted to really capture Devon, not just her gorgeous body and face, but also her beautiful personality. The was the first time we worked together and I am looking forward to working with her again. I really wanted to get the "model" face off her and her soul emerging. So by the end I was getting her to think about the funniest things she could think of and then continued to take photos as we caught up on news in our lives. These were the best shots for me and reflect the Devon I know and love.
Not the best of light, too much contrast and shadow, but a subject I shall have a few more goes at I think.

Starting off with hard themes this year. Luckily my son was getting ready to eat these Doritos and I knew I had my picture! Added a little bokeh texture to give it a festive feeling.
Hollywood Themed Cake (6" and 10"). Tops of the cakes were airbrushed gold, letters, stars, red carpet, film, red ropes, and crowd of paparazzi all fondant. Bottom tier was chocolate cake with brownies, mars bars, and chocolate fudge filling, top tier was vanilla cake with cookies and cream buttercream.
Really love how this one came out :)
Normally I give the tank a make over in late June or early July, but this has been a crazy summer.
I only have five fish. One shark and four catfish.
More fish to come soon.

I had several more themes - I have to look for photos.
Since I took this in portrait mode on my phone, I checked out the high-key option and liked the effect.
Admittedly, it detracts a little form the repetition, but I think it still qualifies.
Chicago photographer Kelli Taylor just finished this “Little Black Book” bridal shower recipe book for one of her good friends, Ali.
Ali, bride-to-be, yoga instructor and nutritionist, is marrying a man that cannot survive for the rest of his life on only fiber. For his sake, I collected everyone’s favorite homemade recipe and brought them together into a recipe-themed book filled with her closest friend’s past memories and future wishes.
Each spread of the black Cortina Lux scrapbook is dedicated to one of the shower’s attendees. On the left side of the spread, Kelli features a Q&A about their relationship with the bride. The right side highlights the person’s favorite recipe securely tucked into a decorative envelope.
I wanted it to be functional without sacrificing the look of the book. Instead of carting a book cloth album into the kitchen, I designed it so the recipe cards were removable. I typed each recipe on an individual card, attached a string and slide it into a custom made envelope.
I got all of the paper from Paper Source. I was weary about spending the money for each individual piece of pattern paper, so instead, I decided to purchase a roll of pattern wrapping paper and cut it myself. This turned out to be way cheaper than the pre-cut swatches.
Back in week two I commented that we hadn't had any snow around these parts but just endless rain. Well, it has barely stopped since then. Because of that large parts of the country are currently below water.
The picture above isn't of a river or lake but of a field, now well and truly submerged. If you spin 180 degrees from where this was taken then you'd see that the field on the other side of the road is also below water. It is the same for miles around.
As you can see from the blue sky things are actually quite nice right now!
