I had a cup of coffee and a slice of carrot cake in this 40s themed cafe today with my friend they are also playing 40s music while you eat, we had a day out together in the Hemswell Cliff Antiques centre. I didn't buy any antiques I have enough old junk at home waiting to be sorted out from my attic...but.. I did treat myself to two nice silver bangles..a girl needs to have a little pleasure..lol.

Media Engine theme created for the WooThemes design contest.
There were many influences surrounding this design. Some of them from Engaget, MSNBC Today, and even Fresh News.
From a designers perspective some elements have a fixed height but this is only due to it being your front page.
For example the area with Google AdSense's 160x600 ad and Featured Video. I would suspect a higher click ratio in relation to them being placed beside the video element.
I chose my colors to create a big bang of excitement the moment someone sees your page. With the average screen resolution 1024x768, the background helps with an opening curtain effect.
All right, enough talk! I have to go design a few more modified designs to show you some alternative layouts of this theme.
Colors? I've got some really cool colors in store for you! Keep an eye out for them.

Certain projects make me see things I would normally pass by. This week's Flickr Lounge theme is geometries and this sign at the start of my walk has squares, triangles, circles, and parallelograms to spare.
Rattlesnake is a steel wild mouse style roller coaster ride which opened in 1998 at Chessington World of Adventures. Due to local planning restrictions (a result of the park being on green belt land the land designated for the ride area was excavated, resulting in the ride being partially submerged below ground level.
The layout consists of a steep lift hill, sharp turns and small airtime hills. Essentially, the rollercoaster starts slower and then starts dipping and twisting.
The Rattlesnake is themed around a Mexican mine of the Wild West era, with the cars resembling mine carts and a number of wooden structures and animated figures. The installation of the ride prompted the renaming of the park's 'Calamity Canyon' area to 'Mexicana', which it remains today.

Because I wander the urban streets for hours every day, I often shoot pigeons, which are urban birds. This photograph has over the doves and behind them a rectangular layer of gray skies of winter. The skies occupy about two-thirds of the photo. Under the doves there's a roof that holds them, and underneath the wall there's a wall which consists of layers of rectangles. The doves themselves are organized like in a military parade on their own rectangular layer. All pigeons facing forward except one keeping an eye so that the group will not get an unpleasant surprise from behind. Weak sunlight illuminates the pigeons from the right from above and from behind, and casts weak shadows on the wall.

בגלל שאני משוטט ברחובות העיר במשך שעות מדי יום יוצא לי, לעתים קרובות, לצלם יונים, שהן ציפורים עירוניות. בצילום הזה יש מעל ליונים ומאחוריהן שכבה מלבנית של שמים אפורים של חורף. השמים תופסים כשני שליש מהצילום. מתחת ליונים יש גג שמחזיק אותן, ומתחתיו קיר. הקיר מורכב משכבות של מלבנים. היונים עצמן מסודרות כמו במסדר צבאי על שכבה מלבנית משלהן. כל היונים פונות קדימה מלבד אחת שמשגיחה שלא תהיה לקבוצה איזו הפתעה לא נעימה מאחור. שמש חלשה מאירה את היונים מימין מלמעלה ומאחור, ומטילה צללים חלשים על הקיר
