If you are a pedestrian and in Redbourn, Hertfordshire. Those on wheels have to drive through the River Ver. In fact, this is one of the few surviving fords in the UK. A ford ("furt" in German) is a place where a river is so shallow that one can wade through it (water levels permitting). The more sophisticated way to get across is, of course, a bridge. The River Ver is a "chalk stream" and flows only when there is sufficient rainfall. At other times there is very little water here and you might be tempted to jump across the river. Fuji X-E3.
Out exploring weekend before last in the Cape George/Antigonish Area, and spotted this gorgeous garden along the roadside. The pond was entitled Mary's Pond, a lot of love and dedication has definitely gone into creating this wonderful spectacle, and what a view beyond. Quite possibly one of the nicest gardens I have ever seen. There is more to it than this, with white picket fences and paths, but obviously I couldn't just wander on to their private property, no matter how tempting!

As tempted as I was to stay the night on the rocky beach at Gerroa Headland (Australia) after finishing a Milky Way photography session, I left this airy B&B for someone else to shelter in, should they want to. I’d spent nearly five hours here anyhow, without the winds that often haunt the location, so I headed home at what was an early hour for me.
On the left side of my photo, you can see the orange streak of a meteor’s death flash, broken by some clouds near the horizon. The swathe of the Milky Way’s central band stretches from the lower left to the upper right of the frame, dominating the shot with its bright core region near the centre of the frame.
This photo is a blend of two images, one focusing on the sky and the other on the timber tent. I used my Canon EOS 6D Mk II camera for each of those two shots and a Rokinon 24mm f/1.4 lens @ f/2.8, using an exposure time of 13 seconds @ ISO 6400.
Thinking about another Whitweek holiday in the Lakes,having been there at this time for the last two years.
Weather both times wonderful, perhaps though third time unlucky

I noticed this mature female Green Lynx spider in the fully bloomed salvia plant near my front door and had to press pause on the day’s chores to snap a few pictures. These two bumblebees entered the composition while I was focused in on the spider, so I did what I could to capture the moment as it unfolded. I half expected the spider to latch on to whichever of them got closest, but she seemed uninterested in tangling with them. Nevertheless, I was happy with the results.

The 120 kilometres between Dubbo and Molong in Central West New South Wales features about 100 different metal artworks of "animals on bikes". Now this tourist trail was commenced apparently back in the late 2000's so many are somewhat deteriorated, many a fair way back from the road obscured by barbed wire fences and paddock grasses and hard to photograph. But some are newer or properly maintained like this Pig on a bike in the small village of Cumnock. It is also a letterbox as you can see. The real tongue in cheek commentary is that it is in the Police station. Well, Aussies at least will get a laugh out of that and the fact that this one police town can have a laugh at itself too. For those overseas, the word Pig is used by some as a derogatory term for the police.
Thanks for your comments on my holiday teasers.....most will have to wait until we get home. Even in this day and age, some motels limit wifi usage (as ours did in Dubbo), quite annoying really. Also I like more time to roll out the shots. We have sorted out our car and other issues (so far) and are taking things steadily now, no more tempting higher blood pressure!
