The Chief of the Defence Staff General Sir David Richards and Lord Sebastian Coe visited Hainault Forest Country Park where over 3000 members of the Armed Forces are living in temporary accommodation. General Richards escorted Lord Coe around the site where he met with the Soldiers, sailors and Airmen and thanked them for their continued hard work during the London 2012 Olympic Games.

This paillette-bedecked cardigan-jacket is the pièce de résistance of look #11 from 3.1 Phillip Lim’s resort 2009 RTW collection. Here I wear the glittery cardigan with nothing but a beachcomber dress, even temporarily abdicating jewelry to temper flash with simplicity. 簡述 : Sung Wong Toi Rock, Kowloon, c. 1920.
The original boulder, depicted on this photograph, was for many years an important historic relic much esteemed and protected by the local community. The three large characters cut into a boulder have been interpreted as ''Terrace of the Sung King'' and, by local tradition, connected with the temporary sojourn in the area of the two boy-princes of the Song Dynasty. Many smaller inscriptions visible on the boulder, of lesser importance, were added later. During the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong, 1942-45, the boulder was dislodged when the hill was leveled. The part of the boulder containing the three characters survived the blasting operations and after the war was rescued and placed in a small park close to the original site.

The Imperial War Museum North
Imperial War Museum North (sometimes referred to as IWM North) is a museum in the Metropolitan Borough of Trafford in Greater Manchester, England. One of the five branches of the Imperial War Museum, the museum explores the impact of modern conflicts on people and society. It is the first branch of the Imperial War Museum to be located in the north of England. The museum occupies a site overlooking the Manchester Ship Canal in Trafford Park, an area which during the Second World War was a key industrial centre and consequently heavily bombed during the Manchester Blitz in 1940. The area is now home to the Lowry cultural centre and the MediaCityUK development, which stand opposite the museum at Salford Quays.
The museum building was designed by architect Daniel Libeskind and opened in July 2002, receiving 470,000 visitors in its first year of opening. It was recognised with awards or prize nominations for its architecture, but has also been criticised for poor energy efficiency. The museum features a permanent exhibition of chronological and thematic displays, supported by hourly audiovisual presentations which are projected throughout the gallery space. The museum also hosts a programme of temporary exhibitions in a separate gallery. Since opening, the museum has operated a successful volunteer programme, which since January 2007 has been run in partnership with Manchester Museum. As part of a national museum, Imperial War Museum North is financed by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and by self-generated income. Admission is free.

When you clear the brush in an abandoned cemetery, it asks you if you'd like to stay. Hung around for a while, temporary resident in the land of the living dead. You've spent a few hours, why not a few years? But I've got kilometers to go before I sleep. This time of the year, Saunders Cemetery catches the last of the aching light, every desperate fading ray of it across the neighboring fields. Bright and golden, winding around like water down the drain. Dripping off the autumn leaves, pooling in letters carved centuries ago. Stone-faced history, come and call me, I answer every time. Now that I've adopted this one, it'll be hard to let it go. When you know that you might be the only one who cares, it's hard to walk away.

when I try to go to sleep
but with you I start to feel
a sort of temporary peace
there's a drift in and out.
Anathema - Temporary Peace
The door of the truck says "IRON", so I'd guess that the MTA's Elevated Iron Fabrication team is doing some work here on the elevated structure of the Jamaica Line (J and Z trains).
This section of the Jamaica Line between the Alabama Avenue and Cypress Hills stations was originally used by the old Lexington Avenue and Broadway Els, and is said to be the oldest elevated structure in the subway system. The part that runs between Alabama and Schenck Avenues opened in 1885, and the rest of it, including what you see above, opened in 1893.
According to Forgotten New York, a little diagonal beam found on the elevated structure here (mostly obscured from view above, but clearly visible here) is the last remnant of an old connection to the Atlantic Branch of the Long Island Rail Road that was in service from about 1898 to 1917, cutting through the block now occupied by the old Blue Ridge Farms processing plant.

Rokon, South Sudan; 5 March 2021: UNMISS Force Commander, Lieutenant-General Shailesh Tinaikar visited Rokon in the Central Equatorian region of South Sudan. The mission’s engineers from Bangladesh stationed at a temporary operating base in the area are rehabilitating roads from the capital Juba to Mvolo. Force Commander inspected the ongoing roadworks, met with community members and leaders during the day-long visit.
Peacekeepers from seven different countries are repairing some 3200 kilometers of roads and main supply routes across the world’s newest country. Improved roadways are expected to boost communication, trade and reconciliation among communities.
