My temporary room is very cozy... :)

This is a photograph from the Ringtown Hurling Club Half Marathon and 10KM Road Races, fun runs, and walks which were held in Whitehall, Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Easter Monday (April 6th 2015) at 11:00 and 11:15 respectively. Ringtown Hurling club is situated in Whitehall which is on the R394 between Mullingar and Castlepollard. The half marathon started outside the GAA club. The 10KM race started about 1KM away from the start/finish area. Both races shared the same route. The race event was also a fundraiser for the charity TEAM (Temporary Emergency Accomodation Mullingar) which provides emergency accomodation for women and children of the midlands who are subject of domestic and sexual violence. They are located at Teach Fáilte, Green Road, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath. 55 participants took part in the Half marathon while approximately 85 participants took part in the 10KM.

Our full set of photographs from today's event are available on Flickr at the following link https://www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/sets/72157651783292685/

Event Management and Timing was provided by PRECISION TIMING. The results from today's events can be found on Precision Timing's website at this URL [www.precisiontiming.net/result.aspx?v=2530]. You can checkout their facebook page at www.facebook.com/davidprecisiontiming?fref=ts

The half marathon started at the GAA club. The main loop of 6 miles started here at the GAA club and proceeded around some beautiful rural back roads with major turns at [goo.gl/maps/8Iw9S], [goo.gl/maps/in6yE], and [goo.gl/maps/JJzwM] before joining up with the R394 and Castlepollard and returning back to Ringtown/Whitehall. The 10KM race was held on this same route but having departed before the half marathon the participants were mostly infront of the main field in the half marathon.

This was the GAA club's second hosting of this event and the overwhelming reaction of participants was that it went perfectly again following on from last year's very successful event. There was a team of Motorcycle outriders and Gardai who expertly controlled traffic flow (particularly along the very busy R394) and made for very safe running conditions for all participants. There was a wonderful selection of refreshments provided afterwards and maybe people were able to sit out in the sun and enjoy a well earned rest after the race. Shower facilities were provided in the GAA club.

USING OUR PHOTOGRAPHS - A QUICK GUIDE AND ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS

Can I use these photographs directly from Flickr on my social media account(s)?

Yes - of course you can! Flickr provides several ways to share this and other photographs in this Flickr set. You can share directly to: email, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Tumblr, LiveJournal, and Wordpress and Blogger blog sites. Your mobile, tablet, or desktop device will also offer you several different options for sharing this photo page on your social media outlets.

BUT..... Wait there a minute....

We take these photographs as a hobby and as a contribution to the running community in Ireland. We do not charge for our photographs. Our only "cost" is that we request that if you are using these images: (1) on social media sites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter,LinkedIn, Google+, VK.com, Vine, Meetup, Tagged, Ask.fm,etc or (2) other websites, blogs, web multimedia, commercial/promotional material that you must provide a link back to our Flickr page to attribute us or acknowledge us as the original photographers.

This also extends to the use of these images for Facebook profile pictures. In these cases please make a separate wall or blog post with a link to our Flickr page. If you do not know how this should be done for Facebook or other social media please email us and we will be happy to help suggest how to link to us.

I want to download these pictures to my computer or device?

You can download this photographic image here directly to your computer or device. This version is the low resolution web-quality image. How to download will vary slight from device to device and from browser to browser. Have a look for a down-arrow symbol or the link to 'View/Download' all sizes. When you click on either of these you will be presented with the option to download the image. Remember just doing a right-click and "save target as" will not work on Flickr.

I want get full resolution, print-quality, copies of these photographs?

If you just need these photographs for online usage then they can be used directly once you respect their Creative Commons license and provide a link back to our Flickr set if you use them. For offline usage and printing all of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available free, at no cost, at full image resolution.

Please email petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com with the links to the photographs you would like to obtain a full resolution copy of. We also ask race organisers, media, etc to ask for permission before use of our images for flyers, posters, etc. We reserve the right to refuse a request.

In summary please remember when requesting photographs from us - If you are using the photographs online all we ask is for you to provide a link back to our Flickr set or Flickr pages. You will find the link above clearly outlined in the description text which accompanies this photograph. Taking these photographs and preparing them for online posting takes a significant effort and time. We are not posting photographs to Flickr for commercial reasons. If you really like what we do please spread the link around your social media, send us an email, leave a comment beside the photographs, send us a Flickr email, etc. If you are using the photographs in newspapers or magazines we ask that you mention where the original photograph came from.

I would like to contribute something for your photograph(s)?

Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers or in other circumstances we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.

Let's get a bit technical: We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs

We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?

The explaination is very simple.

Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.

ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.

Above all what Creative Commons aims to do is to encourage creative sharing. See some examples of Creative Commons photographs on Flickr: www.flickr.com/creativecommons/

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

Don't like your photograph here?

That's OK! We understand!

If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.

I want to tell people about these great photographs!

Great! Thank you! The best link to spread the word around is probably http://www.flickr.com/peterm7/sets

While the main market of the city is undergoing major refurbisment, a temporary building has been erected to keep the activity meanwhile. It is a labyrinthine construction, really hard to be understood in a quick view.

Last October, a fire broke out at student flats next to where the Megabus drops off in Bristol. The Colston Street bus stop was unavailable for use and since then Megabus has been using a temporary stop on Bond Street. Many months on, perhaps it's going to become the permanent stop?

In any event, here we see one of their regular London bound services loading up.

I took this photo at the street entrance to the temporary Vesey Street PATH Terminal Statioin at the World Trade Center Site, Manhattan, New York City in October 2004.

It was my first trip to New York City, and I saved the last day of my trip to visit the the huge hole in the ground that used to be the World Trade Center before that horrible and tragic day, September 11, 2001. I was tired and not in very good shape, but I had to walk the entire circumferenc of the WTC site, starting at Church Street, turning left at Versey Street (where this PATH station was located near the corner), another left at West Street, and finally Liberty Street which took me back to Church Street. It was a long and tearful walk.

MORE ABOUT THE WTC PATH STATION:

The World Trade Center PATH station originally opened on July 19, 1909 as the Hudson Terminal. When the Hudson Terminal was torn down to make way for the World Trade Center, a new station was built, which opened in 1971. This station served as the terminus for the Newark-World Trade Center and Hoboken-World Trade Center routes until it was destroyed during the September 11, 2001 attacks. A temporary station was built, which opened on November 23, 2003.

The temporary PATH station was constructed at a cost of $323 million, and opened on November 23, 2003. The station featured a canopy entrance along Church Street and a 118-by-12 foot mosaic mural, "Iridescent Lightning," by Giulio Candussio. The station was also adorned with opaque panel walls inscribed with inspirational quotes attesting to the greatness and resilience of New York City. These panels partially shielded the World Trade Center site from view. Following its reopening and the resumption of Newark-World Trade Center and Hoboken-World Trade Center service, the station quickly reclaimed its status as the busiest station in the PATH system.

By June 2007, the street entrance to the temporary PATH station was closed and demolished as part of the ongoing site contruction. A set of new staircases was constructed several feet to the south. The temporary PATH station will be replaced with a permanent World Trade Center Transportation Hub, which is being built by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey at a cost of $2 billion.

Quite a few airplanes at my local airport ended up in a similar state after the recent snowstorm - this was the biggest and most dramatic, though.

No budget yet to buy a good urna to house my mom's birthday gift. However this 5 gallon aquarium was quite fine. Ang mahalaga naman, since Our Lady Mediatrix of Grace is all white, maigi ng mailagay sa isang kulob na container.

This man's laborious sidewalk chalk art is effectively an exquisite temporary tattoo, destined to be scrubbed and rinsed from the city's skin before too long.

2019/02/07 - A path that will disappear within a few minutes

Service 516 had been on a temporary timetable, due to the closure of Pebble Hill Road at Betchworth, from 8th September 2014. This saw it have to divert via the A24 and double run Headley to/from Box Hill.

Pebble Hill Road re-opened on Friday 23rd January 2015, however Monday 26th January saw the start of a closure of West Street in Dorking, necessitating another temporary timetable. Inbound 516s to Dorking are terminating at The White Horse (rather than continuing to South Street). On departure from Dorking, they are starting at the White Horse, and running via South Street to Townfield Court, where they are serving stop R instead of stop S, then running via Horsham Road, Flint Hill and up the A24 Deepdene Avenue to regain normal line of route. This arrangement is in place all day weekdays, but not Saturdays. The road is closed from 9.15am to 3.30pm on weekdays.

The 465 is also running via Flint Hill and Deepdene Avenue.

Arriva's 32 and Metrobus' 22 and 93 are diverting via Station Road and Ashcombe Road.

Here's the 516's timetable at stop J on Epsom High Street, updated with details of the services' new temporary timetable.
